OMFG we’re actually in a Play-Off final to get into the Championship!! THE CHAMPIONSHIP! The bloody CHAMPIONSHIP for God’s sake!

How does one distract themselves until the hope/pain/joy is all over??

I’ve got 90 metres of fencing that needs painting but I don’t know if it’s long enough or if I can even hold a paintbrush still enough.

Help.

A little excited are we ??.

Word of caution.... This is Oxford. The hope/pain/joy will NEVER be over.

Get yourself a longer fence. ?

Let's hope we never get into a play off to get into the top division!

I'm sorry, I can be of no help to you.

I don’t much like watching England at World Cups or Euro Championships on TV, but needs must.

However watching OUFC live on TV is so much more worse. Not an enjoyable experience. Rad Ox on Monday will almost be unbearable to listen to.

Pathetic I know, but I can cope with the tension much better if I’m actually in the stadium and experiencing the match live.

A long walk on Monday might be in order!

Wax on, wax off my friend....and repeat

I was as cool as a cucumber in the days leading up to each of our playoff matches. On the day itself, I was distracted, listless, restless, pacing the house - a completely different person. I keep saying to myself to be collected for Monday but I just know I won’t be.

In some ways, the semi-finals are worse. They’re played over two legs so messing up the first prolongs the agony. It’s 180 minutes minimum of torture - and then ours had an extra 30 minutes thrown on top.

The final is a straight knock out. Who blinks first, who finds a moment of magic or who pounces on an error. Intense and nerve-wracking but thankfully over and done with on the day.

I’ll have a normal Sunday tomorrow and then gamely try to concentrate on work for Monday, have a brisk walk around the block before the game before settling in for 90 horrendous minutes.

I’m a bag of nerves and just dreading it going wrong. I have great faith in Robbo though and these players but at the end of the day it’s Oxford and we don’t always do it by the book ! The thing is with L1 seemingly strengthening every season we are never ever going to be gifted a better opportunity than beating Wycombe in a one off match to reach where I think we belong and have strived for for a generation now. That just adds to the tension and pressure, if this was Sunderland or Ipswich we were playing I think I’d be a bit less tense because the expectation would be less and it’d almost be a free hit.

A fast start and 2-0 up in the first half hour, like we were against York, will settle me down but truth is I’ll only be able to properly enjoy this if we are in an unassailable position. Something like 4-0 up with 20 min to go or 3-0 up at half time.

This is such an amazing opportunity, a unique chance in the strangest (most historic) of seasons and years... but somehow I feel it's got Wycombe's name on it. The way they 'sneaked' into 3rd place - remember Denmark in the 1992 Euros anyone? - also weren't they top for a while in the early part of the season? They've never been in Division Two, FL First Division, The Championship or whatever name it's currently given! And obviously we are Oxford United and it's rarely straightforward with us is it.

So really, we are the underdogs in this one-off match despite what Ainsworth would have you believe. We need to treat WW like the massive threat they clearly are and not be lulled into a false sense of security.

But come on. 21 years since we were last there. 24 years since we last won promotion there!

KR will have a plan though. This is a time for heroes.

In Karl We Trust.

COYMY!

I am absolutely shitting it, been a complete wreck all weekend. Monday will not hurry up. Wycombe are going to win it I can just feel it in my veins. Really really really hope I am wrong. COME ON YOU YELLOWS!!!!!!!
