Getting the crowds back in

There are many discussions about fan numbers, rationing of places, priorities and social distancing, but the real issue about getting crowds back into matches is about fan movements on entry, half-time and exit from the ground. How do you get to your seat without closely passing someone already seated in your row. Same with needing a toilet break. Exit might be easier to control in rows at a time, but still problematic with those wishing to get away, and those wishing to applaud the team. Sadly it's academic for me as I will need to wait for a vaccine but there are difficult times ahead for sure. Let's hope the medics and scientists are successful sooner rather than later and we can get back to life in the Championship! COYY

My feelings are the exactly the same

Compulsory wearing of a face covering and gloves when moving around the stadium and in enclosed spaces. Pull the mask down when sat at your socially distance seat. Maybe having scheduled entry times and managed exits etc.

Football at our level isn’t practical and is pointless without fans in attendance, plus why sell season tickets if no one can ever attend the games.

Their must be a solution, it probably won’t be brilliant but reduced attendance with season ticket holders only, no away fans, no food-drink/concessions, one in one out toilets, long queues to get in, wearing face coverings etc (which doesn’t exactly sound fun to be honest but beggars can’t be choosers) is probably how fans will have to return to grounds, whether in September or a bit later.

Obviously if you are in the at risk category you are not going to want to take the risk of going, but I guess life is going to be different for different people further down the line.

One thing that worries me (among many others) about coming back is that singing/shouting seems to to be a very efficient way of spreading the virus. Whole choirs and churches have been struck down. Maybe some polite English applause will be the way forward? Football rattles?

Could we use the fence end in some way as an additional entrance/exit in anyway? Also the big open corners. The stadiums biggest design floors could be a big strength in terms of social distance entrance/exit.

For me, it's all in or none in...but I realise that's unfeasible.

Perhaps the way forward would be arrange the seating to clinical needs,so people who want 2m distancing with some degree of Poe worn could be in one area, and the 1m not bothered about it could be put somewhere else

Still think it’s stupid that all clubs haven’t just gone streaming only for next season already.

This will end with people trying too hard to be clever, or sleepwalking into a situation where supporters are going to pay massively different sums of money for the same stream, simply because nobody was able to go back.

Yes, maybe sell this seasons ticket at the current cost with the view that the season will be entirely streamed. Yes over priced but then the club could offer the following Seasons Ticket at the same price as an incentive. (which will hopefully be live!!)

I doubt league one and two would go ahead at everyone paying £10 a stream (even less paying customers with some fans living in the same house). So I am guessing that something has been promised to professional football by the government for next season.

I do think they have missed a trick not offering a streaming season ticket to at risk fans, they should be encouraged to stay away in my opinion, could of tried to be innovative and offered them something’s on top for the money.

Watching the return of Division 2 at Craven Cottage today, and had to guffaw at the 'crowd' reaching an orgasmic crescendo in honour of a somewhat unambitious Pontus Jansson square ball.

Poor John Trewick will be watching this and thinking he was clearly born in the wrong era...

For those (not particularly) interested, Fosu started and Baptiste only on the bench.

Fulham chose the right year to knock down and rebuild one of their stands.

When every single fan in the UK as well as the wider world is able to purchase streams, the revenue will be there. Especially when you combine it with having an honest conversation with your fan base about the importance of getting behind it. You’re making up for people not being in the ground with the fact that thousands of people who can’t attend home games can now access a stream, which they can currently only do on Tuesday nights. Then you get creative with e-commerce marketing to utilise retail streams while you’ve got everybody on one centralised hub. That’s the dream - the ability to speak to every single person viewing a game at the same time. It’s commercial paradise and offers a far more interactive product for sponsors and commercial partners.

Football is decades behind every other industry. This is a once in a lifetime golden ticket to revolutionise the sport and its revenue models and all anyone is doing is asking people to renew their tickets and basically going, “We’re charging you all different prices even though you’re most likely all going to get the same stream for most, if not all of the next campaign.”

Still. Pies and programmes and stuff.

Basically you’re paying to keep your seat, which I will probably do as me and my mates have a row of four really good ssl seats.

Only let ST holders in. That`s a starting point that could be managed with some application.
The thing most ignored by the government/everyone is exposure over time and distance.
Sat talking to someone less than 2 metres away for 90 minutes is "high risk".
Walking past that person to go to the loo or get to your seat for a moment is "low risk"
It is possible to spread the ST holders out around the ground and manage any interactions or queuing issues.
Close the refreshment kiosks, one way in and out of the cesspits that is properly enforced.
Its live football but not as we know it.

So you you think you can just copy SSU, we will sue for breach of copyright.?

Season tickets went on sale at a few clubs shortly after talks between the government and the football industry about people being allowed into matches, so I would say that has been agreed that it’s season ticket holders only for a while.

I wonder how easy it is to reallocate a ticket for a ST holder, then space around the stadium?I suppose then sending out the new ticket would be costly.
