We beat Barnsley 4-0 at the Manor to clinch the second division championship. I remember walking away from the London Road feeling ecstatic only to discover the horror that had unfolded at Valley Parade that afternoon.

The fire that started under the wooden main stand claimed the lives of 56 fans with over 250 injured. When we played there in 2010 I took the time to visit the memorial. Very moving to read through the names and more so to realise how many families suffered multiple losses.

Hard to believe it's 35 years on from that tragedy.

Yes a happy day at the Manor followed by horror.

Same here. Got home and my mum said look at the tv.
Strange thing about that Barnsley match was that I wasn’t sure if we won 4-0 or 5-0. I think we had a goal disallowed, but because it was the last kick of the game I wasn’t sure if it counted or not.
