The Stadium.....the clock is ticking.

Told you ages ago.....

Ground share at the Madjeski at a knock down rent. (tiger owns a ransom strip there)

New stadium built in 'the north of the county' just off the M40 ... sponsored by an unnamed Asian clothing manufacturer and Bizta Willage.

Simples! You know it makes sense.

Don't they have egg chasing at the Mad Stad too?

London Irish are looking to move back to London in the near future. Last I read, which was a while ago now, they were going to play at Brentford’s new stadium.

Thames Valley Royals :-(

Thames Valley Tigers, playing in yellow and black hoops. (Or black and yellow depending on your inclusivity leanings I guess)

When you sit down and analyse the stadium situation, it’s not unthinkable to believe that Kassam is such a difficult man to actually get agreement from. Anything he says YES to has a positive effect on him. Since his time at OUFC he has had dealings with so many honourably men and they have all failed to get a real commitment which is good for the club.

We have had:-

Nick Merry
Ian Lenagan
Kelvin Thomas
Mark Ashton
Daryl Eales

Bob Price
Ian Hudspath

Trevor Lambert
Mark Sennett
Jem Faulkner
Simon Bradbury
Stewart Donald

All of the above have the club at heart and have tried to get Kassam to be reasonable and therefore making our clubs future more secure. Despite their heroic efforts, in truth have we moved that far with this man. His claim to be the custodian of the club is a very shallow mealymouthed claim.

There will be many others who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to get a much better deal for the club, let’s hope the business acumen of Tiger has more success.

Look at the top of the list for the source of most of the pain for those lower down it. Signing us to that agreement handed all the power to Kassam and he has held it over us ever since. He must have been grinning from ear to ear as the ink dried. You could look back to OCC and question how the whole deal was put together but at the end of the day, that was moment we became chained to Kassam.

The trust continue to speak with Mr Kassam on a weekly basis. We have done for well over a year, maybe weekly is pushing it, let's say fortnightly.

OxVox, despite it often being forgotten, agreed with Mr Kassam to erect a fourth stand last January, something that hadn't been forthcoming before. There is no reason why that can't be rekindled with the new owner or in agreement with the Trust.

The supporters trust continues to have a positive relationship with FK as shown by Firoz agreeing to a OUFC mural to be fitted at the stadium.

Our positive and constructive talks continue.

Appreciate the reply, however have you managed to reduce or get Kassam to re negotiate the licence? Most of all have you with the help of your co-opted committee member Stewart Donald got Kassam to agree to sell the stadium at a realistic price?

Please note this is not a criticism of any of those listed, just an observation that the actual stadium issue has still not been resolved to either the clubs or community benefit.

Was the agreement regarding the 4th stand for a temporary or permanent structure and if my memory is correct it was agreed so late in the day that the cost would have not met the income and therefore causing a loss to the club? Of course that might not be the case.

Keep up the good work.

Surely with the takeover now done mark that OxVox need to speak to Tiger first with regards to what he wants to do about the stadium situation before going back to try and negotiate with Kassam?
