Nothing is ever their fault....................... never noticed them (the hosting team) rushing to call it off.
They knew who they were playing, they knew what was going on................ they went ahead.

Ah, the Govt have somebody else to blame for this and the Tories have form for blaming the Scousers. ;)

to be fair it doesn’t say anywhere in that where Liverpool FC wanted the game called off. Just the Mayor of Liverpool saying it shouldn’t of gone ahead.
I think authorities certainly need to look into why 3000 people from a country who had already began a lockdown were allowed to travel.
Uefa should also be asked why this game was allowed to go ahead.

Strange coincidence that when things go wrong Scousers are invariably there but never to blame.........and the list gets longer.

Absolutely. Which is why it would have been easier for the government to have called it off. No vested interest with only the good of the country at heart.

Imagine if you will the Government from February had done the following.
Closed all shops barring food.
Closed all schools, colleges etc.
Banned all mass gatherings.
House lock down, no leaving the house period.
Closed the borders completely.
Put the military on the streets to enforce.

Probably a shorter period of pain but the consequences would probably have been civil disorder , it`s a fine balancing act.

'cos everyone wants to go out to the park in February. ?

The amusing thing in WA is that they limited alcohol purchases worrying that people stuck at home would drink. I think they probably do, but as the police have reported no increase in drink-fuelled crime they’ve lifted the restrictions now. To be fair, the restriction was per day, per adult, no more than 2 of the following: 1 slab of beer, 3 bottles of wine, 1 bottle fortified wine or spirits. Makes me wonder how much people are getting through usually!

Exactly. That not everyone. No sunbathers. No picnicking. No people out strolling on a lovely spring day.

Two saturdays is more than 5 days at Cheltenham though, thats the Cheltenham that according to you should never have gone ahead (with the benefit of hindsight).

You aren't comparing like with like. parkrun is a predominantly local thing, with people gathering for an hour and a half or so. Cheltenham is a big event with people travelling from all over the country (and from others) in close proximity for many hours over multiple days. Only one of these is really going to spread a pandemic.

Only if those that attend a park run never travel out of the area.

Nothing wrong with Parkrun tourism................. :)

Got to get your NENDY`s in and your letters.............
