Ex Player Lets scour the internet for great oxford goals...

I'm sure it was part of the OP's original video (which I can't see, because I'm not in Britain), but I think Joey's goal against Blackpool deserves a post of its own, because it was the greatest OUFC goal ever scored:

Not just because he's put it into a postage stamp sized gap in the top corner from an absurd distance.....

.....but also because it was the only goal in an April game against our promotion rivals, who we ended up beating to automatic promotion by a single point.

All hail Joey.

It was a pleasure to watch live and almost as good watching the video (again!)

The only other goal that gets even close to it for me in terms of execution and importance was the opener against York at Wembley. Watching that from behind the goal was fantastic as you rarely saw goals fly in like that in the Conference.

The importance of Green’s goal has been lost slightly over time I feel as Beano notched up another not long after, before Clarkey also got himself on the scoresheet alongside Alfie’s dramatic concluding shot. But it was a beauty and it was so important to get that first goal.

Iconic. The feeling when that went in...

I think we all know that Phil Whelan’s goal away at Colchester, around 1999/2000 to secure a 2-1 victory, was the most technically proficient goal ever scored by any OUFC player.

Those who know, know.

I give you Steve Anthrobus at Brentford...... December 2000, so rare nobody filmed it.
Keeper dropped it from a corner, it stuck in the mud.......................the rest is history.

Tim Russon appreciation thread. Would love to see a Russon/Central News-style 30-second vapid, cliche-ridden wrap up of something like Mackie’s goal versus Bradford. Or that Robbie Hall goal v Swindon. Old Tim would have a field day...

he scored some crackers against Crawley , but here’s Matt Day against Altrincham
