Having missed out on Wycombe tickets I was looking forward to going to Coventry away, would be my first time to St. Andrews, train straight from Bicester. Only to find that it is being played at 3pm on a MONDAY?!? Which imbecile decided that would be the best time for a game of football? There will be no fans there!

It's Easter Monday and the trains are not running I think you'll find it's a bus replacement (well GWR into new street is) I'll have to have a look at Bicester
Edit Chiltern look ok with no warnings for around £50 return to Moor street

Risking a Woosh here .... its on a Bank Holiday Monday , Easter Bank Holiday monday @OUFCwaffle

The away end at St Andrews (or Trillion.trophy thingy) holds 4,500. Will this be enough being Easter Monday and a promotion push?
On the basis some Coventry fans are boycotting St Andrews they are unlikely to need more than 10,000, well less than half the ground. I think they normally just open up the modern stand along the side which wraps round to behind the goal, home end.
So they could give us the (old) main stand as well as the away end.

Should be around half that price ....less if 3 or more travel together ?

I can vaguely, very vaguely, remember the U's playing 3 matches over Easter weekend, Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Monday
Yep Sarge, was the regular way 60s/70s. Three games in four days was no problem for players!!

Have got special dispensation and have amounted enough brownie points for this one, well I think I have as she who must be obeyed said I was being sent to Coventry (didn’t mention it was brum).

EASTER 1976:

Good Friday - Charlton (H) 1-0 N Lowe
Easter Saturday - Luton (H) 1-3 D Clarke
Easter Monday - Southampton (A) 1-2 J Shuker

Still lots of games to play and lots of points to play for however the 5 games involving Wycombe (a), Portsmouth (h) Bristol Rovers (h), Coventry (a) and Bolton at home on the last day of the season are massive games to be involved in.
Yes, I am fully aware there are only 3 points available for each of the remaining 9 games and no disrespect to the likes of Tranmere, MK Dons, Rochdale and Fleetwood who could certainly cause us problems the 5 matches listed could be games we could remember for years.......
Coming good at the business end of the season will bring the rewards and the 5 game winning run that we are currently on has set us up nicely.
All that said and done having 3000+ yellows at St Andrews for the Coventry match will be some event.......

Just looked and there is no info about engineering works on GWR or crosscountry websites? Do GWR even go into BNS? Also looked at times on national rail site and it isn't showing that any of the journey will be bus replacement. £40 return without messing about on a split tkt site.

I'm sure your right I just got a warning when using the GWR site to find a ticket they all sell tickets for one another I think. Just looked on the Trainline site and got the same price and no warning as you did so hey ho

Did we not in the very distant past, also play Boxing Day and the 27th December?
