Manager/Coach Karl Robinson - Will he walk

Looks like some people don't even read the programme notes! It can be seen Valentine's Day at home then flown in.
Stopped buying programmes 20 years ago, had so many just cluttered the space I had plus the Mrs was getting annoyed

Tiger will have a few final strategies in place / planned depending on how circumstances play out. If a land deal / stadium resolution doesn't happen then Tiger will need to off-load the club, a lot easier to do if the club has access to a decent training complex and youth development plan in place. Entirely sensible, and aligns to most financial strategies.

Also if you can pad out the bench with a couple of young pros then that could reduce the wage bill / allow spend on wages to be concentrated on a smaller squad; a youth development system is needed to facilitate this.

The big hitters on the Board won't prop up the club / invest more in to the 1st team playing side until a satisfactory stadium way forward is found, again entirely sensible. The sales of Whyte, Fosu-Henry and Baptiste mean the board don't have to dip too much in to their pockets.

If we were close to a satisfactory new stadium / new lease / new solution then I think we would have been a bit braver in the window, maybe held on to Baptiste until the summer and invested in a couple of other areas.
Are there any big hitters on the Board? The only one who allegedly had serious wealth has resigned to run Indonesia. Apart from Zacki and occasionally Tiger, when was the last time any of the others appeared at a game?

Just because he’s rich doesn’t mean he wants to spend all his money so you can have fun watching football! I liked his tweet - I wish the management where I work were as straightforward. I personally think they misjudged those sales and should have waited if possible, but that doesn’t mean there’s a conspiracy to run the club down.

Can’t say this won me over particularly, this season financially should have been great for us with lots of unexpected income from the cup runs plus selling Whyte et al. so I really don’t see how putting some money in for reinforcements in key areas (even if it’s a promising youngster) could be considered not sustainable

Tedious.

I said that we have nothing to fear from Sunderland. I didn't mention the result!! Fact!!!

You’d have to agree it’s pretty convoluted logic to say that we have nothing to fear from a team we just lost at home to whilst playing one of our better games in recent weeks.

You’d think that if they just beat us then maybe there is “something to fear”. Opinion

Neither am I Ricky. What Zaki is actually saying is that this is what it's going to be like for the foreseeable future so stick with us all you fans. Yuk!! His famous interview with Jerome Sale will go down in history.

Which would people prefer, a new stadium or imminent promotion?
The money’s not there for both right now, I think we all know which is more important.

Good to see that Zaki is hearing the concerns of the supporters and responding, but as others have said, what is he actually saying? Things are going to be tight for a while and theyre going to be sensible with the finances while they build things slowly. Thats all well and good in the short term but until the almighty huge elephant in the room is addressed - the f*cking stadium - things are never going to change. Despite everyone’s frustrations we do need to all stick together until this is resolved one way or another. Tiger, Zaki and whoever else now makes up the ownership of the club really are the only hope. Theyre still here and still seem committed, so fingers crossed, progress is being made to find the solution.

Sure, but the perception to those not ITK is lack of progress. The reality may be the complete opposite. Where reality is not, or cannot be, made available perception will win out along with all the speculation and theories that go along with it.

If we knew that the SB/TF transfer funds were required for the imminent completion of a deal which secured a new home then I guess none of us would beat an eyelid. Equally if the squad had been strengthen in key areas for the run in.

No obvious evidence of the above so the cash flow, Tiger cut and run and all other theories do the rounds.

Zaki's post didn't really give much in the way of specifics - maybe he couldn't. Just hope those ITK can see a bright future rather than a FK style journey.

It’s still pretty clear to me: the board DO NOT want us to be promoted this season and acted accordingly. How does that make KR and the players feel? And how will it impact on results between now and May? No points for guessing.

The recent tweet from Zaki must be the closest thing we’ve had to the club saying what their plan is since Tiger took over. It’s all well and good building a sustainable football club and I’m glad that’s the case but the recent transfer window and comments about promotion make it difficult for me to see how you sell Oxford United to prospective players or fans.

Of course there’s the option to say that players can use us as a L1 stepping stone to get back into first team football at a better club but that model hardly builds any sustainability.

Just as an aside, Zaki did suggest that the club are in regular communication with Oxvox.
We have had Very little communication from Oxvox about the strategic direction of the Club, the ground, the January transfer window?

At the start of the season my wish list for my club was:
No winding up orders
Good exciting football
Some nice cup runs
Pushing or in the play offs
Now I have so far seen three of those and I'm confident that we will get close or in the play offs.
As a bonus I have also watched some very good younger players coming through our youth set up, only if they and those following come through and star in the first team and the ground is sorted will the club be in a position to live in the Championship.
I don't think the board changed its ambitions, I think the fans expectations changed as we were playing so well. (I'm as guilty as any) then the injuries hit and we have had a horrible spell and we obviously don't like it. COYY

Very good post. Some of the recent negativity has been embarrassing. I've seen people post if we have enough points to avoid relegation, or saying that Robinson should go!

We've had a really good season so far, that could become great with playoffs and more, or simply good if we fade out at this stage. But it's not very long ago that we were worrying about the bills being paid or looking at every lost point being nearer to relegation.

We are making huge progress on and off the pitch, and whilst I still think the playoffs are a very real possibility, we are better placed to go into next season stronger still.

That is a preposterous statement! Sabotage of a season because they don't want to be promoted??????

We only sold Fosu and Baptiste! Our season wasn't built around these two players. Results were on the slide before the sales. We had a team that was second in December and brought in reinforcements early in the window.

Irrespective of these actions, recent results are the domain of the manager, coaches and players not the board!
