Manager/Coach Karl Robinson - Will he walk

If he gets a offer it wouldn’t surprise me if he left. He’s in a similar situation right now to what he was when he left Charlton for us.

There is a collection of cold hard facts that comes in handy when assessing football teams.
It is called a "league table".
Sunderland are currently 9 points ahead of us, having played one more game. They also have a better goal difference.
The post-seasons are full of teams bleating about being "the better side" despite not getting promotion. Nobody cares.

You really don't understand context do you?

I said that IF we reach the playoffs, then TODAY showed that we have nothing to fear from Sunderland. That means that we would have both finished between 3rd and 6th in the league table that assesses football teams. And that, the result aside, Sunderland were no better than us today. In fact, we looked much beetr in need all aspects. Therefore we shouldn't fear playing them again.

So stay wallowing in your own negativity, nobody cares!

Except an ability to put the ball in the net.

Let’s face it, we’ve all but blown promotion thanks to an inept January both results and transfer activity wise

To the point of KR leaving, I think it’s clear he’s not impressed by the clubs mentality so it wouldnt shock me to see him leave if an offer came in, he’ll look at the amount of rebuilding done in the summer and probably worry like we do at the sheer numbers of new recruits we’ll need

Well, I am touched that YOU obviously care! I know it's part of your job description to pump saccharine into social media feeds, but I'm honoured that you have replied so diligently.
You are so quick to dish out the 'negativity' label that you have lost all credibility. My post about the league table is about being realistic.
There are all shades of opinion, but the essential thing about football is that there is the ultimate truth of the league table.

In our games against the top 8 clubs there have been 33 points up for grabs so far this season. We have picked up 13 points in those games.
We need to beat Wimbledon on Tuesday, which is our game in hand on some of the teams above us, then show what we can do against the teams above us by beating Ipswich. COYY! (resists temptation to overload the exclamation marks).

I don’t think Robinson will be tempted to quit just yet, but he must be as frustrated as us about zaki’s wimpy comments the other day, and the clear conclusion that the board doesn’t actually want promotion yet. So what does the rest of the season hold? The hope of watching some attractive football? I’ll think that will happen. Developing our loans for their next season in a higher league? Certainly. Putting our better assets in the shop window and preparing to sell them? Yup. But , for now, the glass ceiling has been reached so we better not try too hard to get enough points to be promoted. But then, the pathetic transfer window helped us in that regard - shouldn’t be too difficult.....

So often the fall back of the play offs is seen as a given that you'll get through then win the final, the hard facts are that any team is more than capable of beating any other and yesterday does not indicate that we have nothing to fear or could beat Sunderland or any other play off contender. using that very weak argument what if it was Posh?
if we are to put things into "context" then judge by how far we are from the Automatic Promotion places, under Wilder/
Mapp we had perceived decent seasons but were still some high 20's early 30pts from the top 2.
As i've said many times before the play offs bring a "negative" mentality and attitude because even when miles off the top 2 it is still looked upon as a decent season when the reality is that you've actual failed in real terms.

When we were flirting with the drop many suggested we would go down but as i pointed out then with the number of points we were ahead, the other teams would have needed to go on an incredible run whilst we failed to pick up points and some were playing one another. So it follows that sat mid table we need to go on an incredible run whilst some 7/8 teams stutter and with 16 games remaining we likely need at least another 36 pts.

For various reasons we have suddenly made things hard for ourselves.

I think KR will go think there has been a dust up behind the scenes over the January transfer window. With KR turning up at NMW fans forum to mention that Fos/Bap leaving and him saying it and not NMW, I think was done out of Frustration of how the club behaved. Quite a lot of fans have now been saying it and it’s annoying as I wasn’t to keen on KR’s appointment but he has won me round.

The Jerome Sale/Zaki interview was a signal moment this season. What was said and not said spoke volumes. We have serious problems with our men in control.

The board have gone very quiet since the turn of the year, when was the last time tiger was at a game?

What did or didn’t Zaki say?

I think the board are trying to sell the club that’s why there cost cutting January was a huge failure and as I say it’s just like when thr
Money started to run out under DE losing Erik seems to have hit the board quite hard I think

What cost cutting has there been?

Selling players and not replacing them is that not cost cutting start of January we bidding 1m for Cadden end of January can’t even sign a grandpa from the stands

He was talking all calm what good buisness the sales were until Jerome pointed out that release clauses re fosu are null and void in the final days of a transfer window. There was then a very awkward silence stuttering and stumbling felt like he had been caught out to me got a bit funny when jerome asked so did we need the money then

I suspect (but this is purely a guess) that the stadium situation has - as ever - proved to be unsolvable, in financial and planning terms so far as this lot are concerned. That in turn has lead to the 'investors' not being willing to spend money on a project that isn't going ahead, so they have cashed in on a couple of players to balance the books. Remember NMcW is supposed to be telling us '100%' what is happening at the end of the season. By the lack of any even vague or credible rumours, the answer to that is going to be 'not much', with some guff about an improving relationship with Uncle K - which of course does not solve the problem and never will!

Whether Robinson goes will IMO depend on who offers him what. There's little point in him endlessly hitting his head against a glass ceiling with us.

It's not cost cutting though. We've cashed in on assets but still signed the likes of Browne, Kelly, Holland on deals that aren't on the Thorne end of the pay scale.

One can argue about reinvesting the money appropriately, but we've not seen the club make people redundant or anything like that.

We’ve got more chance of Ka££am giving us the club on Monday than promotion. Wake up! We’ve got a board looking to make money out of land who don’t want to spend to get us promoted, a manager who left a club in a similar position and a couple of players worth a bob or two that we actually own.

the season has progressed and instead of things getting better we’re slowly declining into a worse position. Come the summer Dickie, Eastwood and Brannagan will be gone Along with the loanees and we’ll be either completely rebuilding or praying that the lads at Rushden can do a job.
If the board is only interested in a land deal why are they bothering with the youth development?
