Weather vs Sunderland

I'd have thought if the game was in doubt then it would be announced by Friday at the latest.

I hope it is on , as in a way the weather may just help us a bit and slow Sunderland down a little bit.

Strong winds will encourage Sunderland to press high. Easty will kick long, wind will take over and we lose out. If we cannot play out from the back we will always lose possession to any team with a few tall players. It's been like that most of this season.
I'd rather the game was postponed and played on a dry pitch with little or no wind. Far better for us.

Agreed. If the weather is as it's forecast, I'd rather it was postponed. The Ipswich game was played but completely ruined as a spectacle by the weather.

Ok , point taken.

So it should! All this elf & safety bollox is just that!
Cleared snow off the pitch at the Manor so the game could go ahead, roads, pavements etc are just down to people`s common sense.
The same common sense that has now been eaten away by "compo culture".

Christ I sound like my grandfather. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
But it's not entirely down to common sense, is it? Storm damage is entirely unpredictable and can cause serious injury or even loss of life, as we've seen during the past week.

You mean we never had bad weather before they started "naming storms" ? It`s Winter weather it can be wet, windy and cold.
64+ million folk on this island and two died because of "Storm Ciara", or bad luck, depending on your view.
No reason to postpone a game ahead of an event that might not even happen.

Are they both not getting on, Long may kick him back

Just had a flood warning for Oxfordshire from Accuweather along with heavy rain and strong wind alerts

I hope it is as not leaving Oxford until 8 or 9 o'clock. Will not be a pretty sight otherwise, unless I exercise restraint although I only know how to spell, not exercise it.

There'll be some sorry sights round Oxford if game not on.

Those travelling on motorways from a distance may be deterred as driving can be hazardous and slow in extreme wet, windy weather. We will not risk the 2 hrs 20 drive ( in good conditions) even tho we have STs. so a postponement may be ideal from selfish perspective. Also give Browne, Kelly, Mackie more time too. Remember the pitch , if very wet as v Ipswich, will have no time to recover for Tuesday, and a poor surface will suit the Wombles more.

According to the TV weather report earlier they are expecting gusts up to 70mph which on top of trees and other objects already weakened by Storm Ciara doesn't bode well.

If the forecast is right this should be postponed but imagine how annoyed we'd all be if it then turned out to be fine. Not sure I can recall matches being postponed a day early because of forecast rain storms though. Normally that only happens for snow/frozen pitches.

I guess the ref will wait until the last minute to decide which would be unfortunate for the travelling fans.

Now been upgraded to Amber alert in Oxfordshire for rain on Saturday and Sunday. If game is on its not going to be pretty I tell you.

Not Amber for our area though on Met Office

We are on the fringes of a yellow warning so I think it will be on
