National News The Brexit Thread 🇬🇧🇪🇺

And your point is? That's a good thing? That's something we ought to aspire to? Or are you trying to insinuate that those who use foodbanks are some sort freeloaders who getting overweight by topping up their diets with some freebies?

I am saying it is a good thing that there is now a better form of safety net for those who most need it!

Actually, a good deal of those who have little alternative but to use food banks used to be able to afford to feed themselves properly.....

See above, there is only one person who can change a bad situation. The person that is in it.
Yes there can be many & varied reasons why they are where they are, but very often they need to make tough choices to improve their life.

Now bojo n co have (apparently) ....got ....brexit ....done....
Weve had ridiculous storms with more to come and a pandemic virus that on a daily basis new cases, in the uk, are reported

Dont recall storms of the recent magnitude or viruses as debilitating currently when we were in the eu?

Bad storms and nasty viruses , I blame Brexit ! ;) ;);)

It's because of the EU....silly!

IF we hadn't had 3 years of dilly dallying, we would've closed our borders and restricted movement long before either Corona virus or the storms ever had the chance to reach our shores!

The sooner we get back to pre EU Britain, the better I say...perhaps then Corona will be delivered in bottles, to your door, rather than in virus form....just like in the good old days!

And whats wrong with some good old British virsues anyway?...bring back Cholera, Diptheria and Rubella...none of this forrin muck, that's what I say...never did me any harm!

Old article but it kind of proves a point.......

"Around 30% of all food consumed in the UK is imported from the EU, but for some foods, such as spinach and olives, the EU is practically the UK’s sole supplier."

Feck me no spinach or olives........................................ :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

out really does mean out .... careful if you go abroad on hol

How dare he forget as a baby exactly where he was born and that is assuming the Home Office is even right. That is outrageous, no doubt we'll find out he once had a parking ticket so is a danger to all the gammon in this country.

From the same article...................
"The letter states that his UK passport “should not have been issued”, on the basis that he naturalised with an identity that “conflicts [his] true identity”. It states that he said he was born in 1986 and born in Serbia, but the Home Office believes he was born in 1985 in Albania. "

So he appears to have incorrectly completed his paperwork, or possibly lied?
His name gets flagged up on/by an EU system and at his first interaction with it he gets nobbled.
Isn`t that how "freedom of movement for those entitled to do so" works??

Government incompetency with computer systems reaches across every party and every situation. Somewhere in the planning meeting somebody will have written down "What about 3 digits" and a software engineer further along the path would be saying "Nah, never going to happen and 2 digits will save you £50k." :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Absolutely. System design and implementation projects are fraught with many a pitfall, especially when it comes to bespoke systems. You might be able to identify every eventuality, but does CBA allow you to include it in the final product?

Still funny though...if I were him I would've said sorry, both my parents are deceased....can a grandparent do it? :ROFLMAO:

Interesting .....

So he is supposed to remember from when he was baby where/when he was born? What if his parents told him the info he supplied, why would he doubt that?

From the same article, he had no knowledge the passport shouldn't be used as Home Office incompetence meant the letter explaining this was sent to the wrong address. He should be allowed back in and then the issue dealt with through the appropriate systems in this country, rather than making somebody homeless/stateless in Belgium after the Home Office f**ked up the address for the letter.
