General Now the transfer window is closed, what’s our best team if everyone is fit?

For me, it’s either:

Eastwood
Long Dickie Mousinho Ruffels
Gorrin
Woodburn Brannigan
Henry Taylor Browne

Or

Eastwood
Long Dickie Mousinho Ruffels
Gorrin
Henry Brannigan
Sykes Taylor Browne

Hopefully we can get everyone fit and firing soon, because both of those teams look very decent indeed - perhaps with a slight preference towards team 2?

Eastwood
Long Dickie Mous Ruffels
Brannagan Gorrin
Holland Henry Browne
Taylor
Maybe Woodburn over Holland, hard to say so far

As previously said, the back 6 is pretty much a given :

Eastwood
Long Dickie Mousinho Ruffels
Gorrin

I'd then say there are another 3 players that would definitely be in the starting line up:

Brannagan, Browne and Taylor.

That makes nine (same 9 as in all other previous posters' teams).

So, then take any two out of Henry, Woodburn, Holland, Sykes, Thorne, Kelly for the remaining positions, depending on what formation and how we want to play.

Henry has to be a given. God knows where we'd be without his input in the past two or three seasons, for one we'd probably be in L2. His late season goals were crucial to us staying up and again this season his goals - and assured penalty taking - have given us the platform for the success we are having. It's sometime hard to pinpoint precisely what his game is and in some games it can seem as though he's drifting but the fact is we look a much more complete team when he's in it.

The rest I agree with. On current form Sykes is the man to nab that last spot but ultimately and when he regains full fitness it will likely be Woodburn who has the biggest impact.

Agreed on Henry. When he isn't playing it is noticeable we just aren't as good.

Holland,
Brannagan,

I too would consider James Henry a given on any starting line up. I hope to see Dan Agyei given time to keep his eye on as well.

Mmm. At the moment Agyei is nowhere near the best 11.
Hopefully he gets his head down and improves as much as Sykes has done.

As has been said, if everyone is fit and in form - then George Thorne is the best player we have. Dude was a 3 million pound player six years ago (which, with krazy football inflation, is probably equivalent to at least double that now). Problem is he hasn't been able to stay fit long enough to get into any sort of form, for several years.

But in a hypothetical best team, he's definitely holding down the middle of the park, alongside Cam. Then I think you're looking at Henry Taylor Browne ahead of them.

Interesting that none of the above teams included Kelly to start.
Wonder if that's changed after last night? After 2 missed passes and a yellow card immediately after coming on I was thinking oh dear. Then he was different gravy after that, even without his goal. Excited to see more now.

Andy Whing... take a seat, there's a new kid on the block

I don't think Woodburn fits in our system. Would be very useful to have off the bench though, as would Sykes and Holland. Kelly did enough yesterday to show that he alongside Brannigan can essentially replicate his niggliness off the ball and quality on it.
