General Jan transfer window

Fosu is perfectly legit because he had a release clause. But why couldn't they hang on to Shandon till the end of the season? Will I get half my kit sponsorship fee back?

You never know both could fail there medicals

I genuinely take no pleasure at all in this. But it was clear as day what was happening. Holland, Browne at al were brought in to replace rather than Bolster.

Talk of million pound bids was B*****s. Utter B*****s.

An absolutely brutal window at the prices mentioned. And another summer rebuild needed.

And KR said the fees were bigger than quoted, what is your evidence it isn't and is utter B*****s?

Karl didn't want to sell, the board didn't want to sell, the players didn't want to go. Well someone's lying there.
He didn’t say the players didn’t want to go, they did hence they are having medicals. He said the bids were accepted after they spoke to both players.

Holland and Browne didn’t come in as ‘replacements’ for Fosu though - Holland came in as backup / rotation option and Browne came in to replace Hall and to give us a right winger. The whole point was depth on the wing, which was our biggest issue coming in to January, and has now been undermined at the 11th hour.

People need to chill a little I feel. It was unimaginable a few years ago for that we would be a club where every transfer window there were rumours about our players going for millions. We are now that club. We have positioned ourselves as a club that truly develops players and then are able to sell on for profits. We develop youth and bring young players from other clubs in with, I'm sure, the major selling point being to those players and their representatives that we will develop you and won't stand in your way when bigger clubs come calling. People can bang on about lack of ambition etc but the reality is we are a L1 club, with average attendances and income, who pay extortionate rent and have no assets other than the players. While it's nice to think that rich owners are going to invest in us the fact is we seem to have found ourselves a sustainable model, the only one we could have, that I would argue is keeping the club going and out of trouble. I'm gutted to see players of that quality go but I'm actually quite proud of the model we have developed and the reputation we have. To be able to look at the premiership and championship etc and see the catalogue of players we as a club have helped develop is amazing.

'On the cheap '?OK what did we sell them for
It sounds like circa £5m so hows that on the cheap?
You realise Fosu has a buy out clause of £750k?
It sounds more like c.£4m to me, but regardless, selling now could only be justified if it was an absolutely silly high figure.

KR said it will take a few weeks for things to settle down. We have 9 games in the next 4 weeks = season over. That is the price we will pay for letting them go now.

And yes everyone knows Fosu was £750k release clause. DI’d you realise Browne, Holland and Kelly will be leaving at the end of the season?

And KR said the fees were bigger than quoted, what is your evidence it isn't and is utter B*****s?
I meant our "bids" for Cadden etc. In the same way that everyone said wed got way more than publicised for Whyte, it then became clear that we really hadnt.

It makes sense at a club like ours to sell, but please Tiger, no more bullshit about "going for it" as its an utter joke.

And KR said the fees were bigger than quoted, what is your evidence it isn't and is utter B*****s?
I might be wrong but some of the quotes from Robinson earlier in the window have proven to be b******t, so I'm not ready to go ahead and believe the transfer fees hes stating now. Especially when others sources are reporting them as lower. I do hope he's correct though, £3m for both would be a disastrous deal in the current market.

Seriously people need to get a grip. Club has £10m debts, we’ve invested massively in the squad this season. If we get £3.5/5m for the pair that’s half our debts gone.
Browne, Holland, Kelly are better at present than Fosu and Baptiste - of course we don’t want to sell but we sometimes have to

we miss Henry and Brannagan more as has been shown since end of December
Agree. But then they shouldnt keep trying to sell the promotion dream bullshit. Teams dont get to the Championship by selling the best assets. At least we now know that we’re a selling club. It was confirmed during that gut churning debacle tonight.

Im absolutely gutted tonight. We‘ve come so close to achieving something great this season but have appeared to raise the white flag and give up on it all. What really got to me was the apparent confirmation that there wont be any incoming players tomorrow. Surely he had players in mind for this scenario? This hasnt just sprung up in the last hour or so, he must've had an inkling?! And as for dismissing the Grigg situation as never really going to happen - why make it public in the first place then?!

I can only guess how sick Robinson and the rest of the squad feel. And now we have potential targets turning us down.

Something feels very wrong tonight.

Sad reality of where we actually sit in the football pyramid. Still in massive debt and don’t own the ground so this will keep happening and I think people need to be a bit more realistic regardless of how painful it is.

People need to stop and have a think about the window as a whole.

Fosu - nothing we could do once the release clause was met. You cannot moan about the board.

Baptiste - good player, but important for our team? With a fully fit squad he wouldn't start IMHO. He is young and drifts in and out of games. We were best with Gorrin, Branaghan and Henry. We also have Kelly, Hanson, Sykes and Thorne in the middle. The quoted 3 million is good. Not many players from League 1 go for that amount!

We have also signed Brown and Holland. Both will be very good in the second half of the season.

If we can sign a RB and Forward we will have had a very good window.

um he clearly said the players did not want to go
Essentially both are happy here but want to test themselves. If they wanted to stay, they wouldn't be leaving as they cannot be forced to leave. Both want to further their careers so they DO want to leave.
Baptiste has aspirations to play for England and he won’t achieve that by staying here.
Too many people been playing Champ manager and FIFA and need to grasp a little reality.

When will people get it into there heads that 'We don't need to sell' isn't the same as 'we're not selling anyone'

We will always sell if the money is right.

Robinson's dropped enough hints over the last couple of weeks about doing what's right for the player as well as the club..because we want to be seen as a club that won't hold back the careers of players.

Total rubbish! We don't have to sell they said. Without any reinvestment, don't fall for the f****** spin.

We lose money pretty much every season so we are a selling club, they go together.

We paid a fee for Fosu in the summer, we paid fees for Dickie, Sykes, Moore etc under these owners so we do re-invest

The fees will be “undisclosed“ as always.

if Shandon goes for £2.25 million, the club have been taken for mugs. His talent is with at least £4-5 million. The add ons will need to be unfuckinbelievable.
