Great piece on radio Oxford today about mental health and the work that goes on behind the scenes. Lot of care goes into the younger players and being open with any problems they may have. And no I don’t have a link ☹️

the KR (& dan Harris) feature is 'somewhere' on this show ...( Link below @Witney yellows )

Gave it a good listening to. Very interesting. Well done Karl, Mrs Karl and Max.

A worthy initiative, but I wish Mr Robinson hadn’t publicly hung young players out to dry last season - going on the radio when they were struggling and saying things like “they’re not my player” and so on - as it was very much the opposite of helpful in terms of this subject. As was publicly saying that Ivo Pekalski, who had been a bit of a public figure for depression in football in his native Sweden, would be made to run and run on the training pitch until he agreed to rip up a contract he had signed in good faith. I find it disingenuous on a human level to behave that way and do those things while saying something entirely different now.

Here is hoping that some lessons were learned on that front. This is a very important topic that if treated with genuine care could bring about an awful lot of good. It’s not to be used as a PR exercise so I hope that there is some sincerity coming into play - this is important stuff.

I suspect lessons have been learnt but have nothing other than looking in from the outside to base that on.
