General Jan transfer window

Ruffles and Eastwood are definitely the weakest part of the team atm.

i agree our back four all were poor last night and long was probably one of our worst players.
How on earth did he not concede against a decent team in absolutely horrendous conditions if all of our back 4 were poor?
Defensively I thought that Long was excellent and Mous very good.
Some of the criticism.on here is a little daft in my view.

Ruffles part of a solid back five that hadn't conceded at home in the league since aug! But he should be a flying winger , yes that would work well with Fosu!

I think what's happening is that some fans got a little carried away thinking auto promotion was a given and then after losing to a decent side and getting a point in horrible conditions against another promotion candidate they let off steam and in some cases look for a player/s who is/was to blame.

it appears that some will now have a reality check after thinking we were just going to blow teams away every week.

Can’t believe anybody could say Sam Long had a poor game let alone a terrible one. I’m not dubbing him the new Cafu or saying he’s the man to carry the position for the season, but to say he was poor last night... wild. Absolutely wild.

I think its unfair to judge anyone on last night. Conditions were very poor and game was stop start (literally).

Or just give their opinion of who they think has not played well and who has played well.

Some supporters don't like to see any criticism of any players for some reason.

I think I noticed a few occasions last night when Gorrin and Dickie seemed to have communication issues....at least it looked to me like this was what Gorrin was suggesting shortly after some of our more incoherent moments.

I am thinking that Cams absence has made this worse as he and Gorrin have such a good partnership/understanding. Without Branners on the pitch, he doesn't have quite the same outlet, which has led to a few moments of indecision.

I also don't get the lack of movement at our throws...but that is a different issue...

Brannagan is vital to the way we play, last night there was numerous chances to switch play something CB can always see but no one could manage to do that last night,

also since he’s been out we haven’t been free scoring like we were & losing the partnership of Cadden - Henry on that right where we were so strong has made a big impact on that aswell

Ruffels was poor last night, so I think we need an option there to push him.

We need a genuine striking option from the bench in my opinion. Last two games, our promotion rivals could call on Ladapo and Sears from the bench...If we have a fit and mobile striking option from the bench, it would change things up. The best Mackie can offer is to see games out.

I thought this thread was about who was coming in / going out during the transfer window and not having a go at certain players

If you have a point to make a point about a certain player start a new thread with his name

Now EC Yellow please give us a snippet about who maybe coming in so that we can all move on

I do think some people are getting carried away with this “best team in the league” stuff which is being peddled by some opposition managers. That having been said, we are clearly one of the contenders for promotion and will be right up there. Keep an eye on Sunderland and Portsmouth in your wing mirrors though. I’d guess we’ll finish between 4th and 6th.

It's one thing for people to give their opinion on who has played well or not over the last game or two, but it's another thing entirely to suddenly start suggesting players aren't good enough and should be dropped and replaced.

We have a lot of players who are either injured, recovering from injury, or dealing with clear fatigue and burnout due to being overused because of our injury problems, and because of that, our form has become a bit inconsistent in recent weeks.

But those players have got us into a great position in the league, with a genuinely good chance to go for promotion, and taken us to the quarter finals of the league cup, thrashing a premier league club along the way, and another big game to a premier league club in the 4th round of the FA cup, and they've done it in style, we've been one of the highest scoring teams in the entire country, and have conceded very few goals, especially at home.

It's inevitable that players will have dips in form, and bad games, especially when they have injuries, rustiness when returning from injuries, and fatigue issues, and yes, we could do with strengthening in certain areas, as could every team on the planet, but I feel a bit of perspective is needed here
