Home Match Day Thread +++ 20/12/2019 OUFC U18s v Maidenhead U18s +++

If we can win this one then we will be at home to Preston in the fourth round.
That could be winnable because Preston are also a Category 3 Academy, and this squad has already beaten two Category 2 academy sides (Burnley last year and Colchester this year).
And that would take us into the last 16!

Be aware though that Preston also put out a Category 2 academy (Bristol City) in the last round.

Twas a bit 100mph for a long time first half thought we were much better when it slowed a bit and we started passing.

32 teams in the Fourth Round and only three from outside the Premier League / Championship - OUFC and Bradford City (Category 3 academies) and Fleetwood (Category 4). That puts tonight's achievement into a better perspective.
We have had a relatively easy run to date. Let's beat Preston.

glad to hear the U18s won ... well done young U's

FT 1-0.
But we will have to play better than that in the fourth round against Preston.
Finishing was the weak point, hopefully Spasov will be back from injury by then.

I agree, some of our play was good, and we were the better side over 90 minutes, but we weren't clinical enough; felt the result could have been more comfortable for the lads.

Still, into the next round we go!

Great to see so many involved with the club supporting the young U’s and wandering around chatting to people as well. Love this club.
