EPL Amazon Prime games

Yup - all ten games on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday respectively are being shown. I notice they’re messing with the kick off times so that some start at 7:30 and others at 8:15. Presumably so that people can switch over to the start of one at half time during another, and then watch the whole of the second halves after the first games have finished etc.

until var gets involved and then you get the 10 o'clock news

Yet another case of more fingers in the pie and the powers that be clearly do not live in the real world

Was excited for the amazon involvement - until I saw the pundits ???

Yeah very odd kick off times.

I don't get why Sky cannot show ALL games on a Sunday/Tues/Wednesday night!

They’re terrified that too many games being shown too regularly will lead to half empty stadiums. This Amazon deal is definitely a toe in the water in terms of the potential of every Premier League match being broadcast domestically. Will be interesting to see if Amazon release any viewing figures publicly in the days and weeks after the fixtures take place.

It's because of the packages and rights that the premier league sell. SKY and BT did not want this midweek all games package, they did not even bid for them the premier league practically gave them away.

Who cares about the commentary it’s every premiership game for 8 quid a month or whatever prime is. As long as they keep the subscription fee low I am all for amazon taking all the games they can get

Hope anyone that watched last night enjoyed themselves. I work for the company that are doing the streaming. Was in the thick of it last night, lots of nervous folk in the room.

Big test is boxing day. 10 simultaneous matches is no mean feat!

Are they all in UHD?

I am working away in Norwich and enjoyed sitting in my hotel room watching the staggered kick offs, didn’t bother with the half time crap just switched games. At the price Amazon prime costs (you only need one person a household to have it as well) I hope this takes off, godsend to those of us who are away from home for a chunk of the year.

Offer different camera angles and it will be ? (aside from the pundits)

Thought it was awesome last night.
Have 2 monitors so I have so much football everywhere.

I find the American influence funny, we have a lot of commentators we never see but they now all have a camera right in front of their face.

Amazon got this package for £90mill. A bargain.

If they get anymore I can see them introducing a Prime+ membership.

It's another way to bleed money from other broadcasters and offers people the chance to not pay the license fee any more. With Disney+ too, the market is going to be very competitive.
