General Brannagan & Co to stay and take us to the championship?or not....

They are still in denial that they are a league 1 club by merit.
Why would Brannagan move to another league 1 club? To a club currently lower in the table.
The implication that we are just a selling club and will take any low ball offer.
The idea that Sunderland want to be buying players ready for the Championship.

If we are still top 6 in January and genuinely have promotion in site this season-then why would we sell ?
Equally if we have a chance of going up, why would anyone want to leave ?

4/5mill for Brannagan, 2mill for Dickie, unlimited for Baptiste. That doesn’t even take into account Moore and Fosu

add another zero and that would be more like it

Didn't they just get £10m or something like that in? So double the £5m, just for them.

It seems from that article, the authors are still under the impression they are a big club and us smaller clubs are grateful for any handouts for our promising players.

Wouldn't mind writing an article from the perspective of, say, a Sheffield Wednesday fan.

"Sunderland's McGeady is a superb left winger for the League One level, and if we offered £750,000, the Black Cats would gladly accept."

The city game in my eyes has a massive baring on if we keep some of are players. In normal circumstances unless your a die hard oufc supporter the chance to treble your wages join a supposedly bigger club will be to hard to turn down . But if we somehow miraculously beat city if your a player the chance to play for a championship club or relegation candidate in premier league won’t look so amazing if you have a potential 2 wins away from domestic silverware. I no it’s a very big if but if We do get through I think it could be the difference between keeping a player till at least the end of season rather than January

We wont beat city lets all come down to planet earth, they are a country mile ahead of us in the game. I don't think the city game has any bearing on who goes or stays either, we have players who no doubt will have clubs after them its on the player. Do our players believe we can be in and around promotion end of the season and yes I think is the answer, its whether they want to come up to the championship with us and enjoy the ride :).

If two or three of our lot play out of their skins (and they'll have to if we want to compete in this game, win or lose) then they will of course attract a whole load of attention.

The other side to this is that if (when) we beat Man City then we will attract national attention beyond anything we've seen so far. The national narrative is that we're still plucky little Oxford who had a good result against a weakened West Ham and scrapped through against Sunderland. However, a win 4 weeks from tonight and we will get massive attention and players will be in the shop window for clubs higher up the pyramid.

The one thing that does go in our favour is that there is a togetherness throughout the club with everyone focused on a single goal - promotion. Players see success at Oxford as very much achievable and want to see this through. I will be surprised if our key players leave in January for clubs they could be playing against next season, but massive offers from PL sides or those at the top of the Championship could turn heads.

I don’t for one second think we will beat city. We probably have as much chance of beating them as Wigan did a couple of seasons ago. I’m Just saying if we miraculously did beat city which is probably at best a 5% chance would you personally as a player still want to jump ship in January (if you wanted to in the first place) or have a shot at making a national final. But please don’t think that I think for one second we’re making the semi but like Wigan showed nothing is impossible

Either way players futures wont be decided on losing to man city, id love us to win........ :) just not gonna happen. Id hope they signed for us with ambition to play higher with us, we have given these players a great chance to prove there worth as players. Fingers crossed brannagan/fosu/taylor stay for the foreseeable future and we get near if not into the championship.
