Away Match Day Thread +++ 19:10/19 L1 Rotherham United v OUFC +++

A very good away performance.

especially in the second half we put the hammer down and prevented them from playing.

we could have had a few more if now for a few saves and a sloppy final ball. Brannagan especially on the break...however he did get 2 assists today!

Didn’t even notice dickie/Woodburn out...Taylor managed 3 shots in the six yard box. Playing Sykes on the right we lose some of the link up between Henry and Cadden.

all round - a very decent away performance. I think east would could have been better for the goal, however he made a good second half save. He just needs a little more confidence coming for the ball -similar to vs Accrington
I thought with Dickie missing I have to admit I was a tad only a tad concerned with Elliot Moore not because i don’t have faith but because he hasn’t played many......how wrong was I.

Went a couple of years ago and really liked the stadium. It felt like the stands were steeper than at the Kassam, and they are also closer to the pitch. Certainly one of the better new builds.

Indeed. Two steps up for every row of seats.

On this form we can definitely hold a play-off place when it matters, at the end of the season when everyone's played the same number of games. Quality and confidence are starting to tell.

What a great result, suppose the moaning little bitches will still be waiting to rear their ugly heads, prices to high, can't drive away from the car park in 5 mins after a game, their wine was too warm. See it's about passion, bursting with pride for your team no matter win, lose or draw!!

Up the U's!!!!

we get a post/thread from you at least once per season moaning that you can’t get an OUFC tracksuit or whatever it is you whinge on about.

Enjoy the win and encourage fans to come along instead of ostracising them for not being able to afford to go to games.

Listened today, we sounded a very accomplished, professional unit. What a signing Fosu is.

Well done all those that went, and the team and management.

Bollox, I make a yearly and rightly post that our merchandise is s**t.

Of course a little snowflake like you cannot comprehend that I was taking the P**s about those who use every excuse under the sun to either moan or not attend.

Passion son, show real passion..

This is not meant as a brag or moan at people. Back at hotel wondering just how far this team could go. The fans today were amazing as usual, but what I find puzzling is that for all of us that have to travel hundreds of miles for a home game, how can there be Oxford United fans that live in the County, and are able to attend matches, staying away with things going so well at the moment.
Support the club, the team, by showing up as did Lincoln fans and Rotherham fans today. If these teams are getting 8000 plus, then with the position we are currently in, our players deserve it to.

What a Millers fan has pasted on the forum nice and complimentary.

Totally agree. Oxford made the football look easy and we seemed to battle getting nowhere

Haha the irony! You want to relax a bit! I’m sure Rangers will have a tracksuit in stock for you soon.

thought we'd do well to get a point today with Dickie out and uncertainties over Taylor and Gorrin but that's a great result.
nice goal (again) from number 11.
we really do have some quality players

And a nice comment from the millers manager Paul Warne.

“They're in the best form in the division and they have threats all over the pitch. You could see they're a good team. They just had a little bit more than we did in the final third.”

Just in case anyone was still under the illusion we’re not doing the biz

That was a hell of a win. I could weep at finally having a proper poacher / goalscorer like Taylor. He barely touched the ball meaningfully before he headed in the second, and there’s something satisfying about that. There are a number of good and important players, but I love knowing that now there’s an out and out striker who is going to have the ability to pounce at any moment, and that whether they’re playing well or whether they’re virtually anonymous for most of the game, that threat is always there regardless. He could do nothing for 92 minutes but you’d still feel he was only one run or one decent cross away from getting something before the whistle. Will be a miss against Rochdale but fancy him to be up for the Sunderland match in front of a 10,000+ crowd. People really should come and watch the team now. It’s got momentum and that can be really powerful - even an extra 1,000 people against Rochdale would be a welcome boost.

Good to hear that Forde is almost ready to be involved again. Combined with Agyei and hopefully Hall continuing to get fitter as well, there’s a little bit of depth starting to creep back in. Dickie’s suspension is done, now Taylor will serve his, so those are starting to clear a little bit as well.
