League Cup Sunderland tickets at 25% discount

I can purchase random seats at S/T discounted prices assigning each one to a member of the family but can't buy the 6 reserved seats.

Powers that be have really screwed up on this game, making it deliberately problematic to:
a) see your own reserved tickets.
b) buy tickets for your guests online.
Either do online properly or forget it !

Firstly I'm sure they didn't make it "deliberately problematic."

Secondly I will still buy tickets regardless.

contact Kath , OUFC (supporters liason officer) SLO, she may be able to advise on how to approach the issue?
hopefully the club are aware there are issues with the Sunderland cup game ticket purchasing online...and are looking to rectify the problems/issues?

Ive been 'mocked' several times(on here) for going to the ticket office in person, and paying (by choice) in cash
Got to say Ive not had a problem buying match tickets the old school way, for any match at the breeze block. as yet... bought mine and my granddaughters tickets from the ticket office, in person, paid by cash, for the Sunderland cup game, last week ;)

I’ve got to say the OUFC online ticket ordering system is generally one of the best I’ve seen, usually easy to use, you can zoom in and out to select the exact seats you want, and even look at a photo of the view of the pitch from wherever you’ve chosen! And then you can get it emailed directly to your phone so you don’t have to mess around with physical tickets... As an exile it’s absolutely brilliant

I have tickets for Sunderland, but had to phone Christine in the ticket office to purchase a guest ticket.
My comments were based on postings from several ST holders on here regarding difficulties in obtaining tickets, due to a change in procedure( for this game only).
There were no such issues for the West Ham game.
It would appear that the reduced ticket price has “clouded” the thinking of the new manager for ticketing- against the better judgement of the existing ticketing team, who have over 18 years in the job !
I have used the online platform to purchase tickets for every away game, both for this and previous seasons
Likewise for additional cup games .
Being a “saddo” I tend to log in as soon as they are available i.e. 16:30 often bagging tickets 1&2, in the main with no issue.

one of the (many) downsides of purchasing electronically - with no hard copy ticket- is the lack of wifi around the breeze block, is that if the weak wifi signal is even weaker than usual,&you cant access your emails on a hand held device, howd you gain entry to a match that youve paid upfront to go and watch?

asking for a friend :sneaky:

Can you even get those any more?!

of course - all I want , or need a phone to do is make and take calls , and send & receive (text/sms) messages ;)

cost about £15 new

I use a camera to take photographs
and a hand held mini tablet to go online (assuming there is a wifi signal where I am at the time)

self confessed Luddite me :)

You don’t need signal to access the ticket at point of entry, you just save it to your electronic wallet on your phone (or even just take a screenshot of the barcode) and then it’s basically the same as a paper ticket (they just scan the barcode on your screen) so you don’t have to have any signal at all

What are the other drawbacks?

Positives:

You don’t have to go anywhere, saving time and money and effort

You can see exactly what seats are available and where, and take your time to choose the exact seats you want

You can have a look at what the view is from the seats you’ve chosen, and how many are currently free near you

No queuing at the ticket office or waiting on the phone, even if you book only hours before the game - much more flexibility

Better for the environment

No need to print anything off or have anything sent in the post which could be lost and costs money. No need to queue to collect tickets at the ground

As long as you have a phone or access to one you can’t lose or forget the ticket, or have it damaged or destroyed

Your wallet shows exactly which games you’ve been to this season which can be nice to look back on if you have a bad memory like me ?

not on the basic phone I've got you cant :sneaky:

besides my grandaughter likes the physical ticket stub .... souvenir of the match(es) shes been to.... it's not the same on/ from an electronic device :sneaky:

If I'm able to make a home game , I'll pop to the ticket office a week or at least several days before the match, when I'm in the vicinity of greater leys, no need to queue then either

tend to sit next to my Dad, Sister n nephew (all ST holders) in SSL (fence end) , invariably plenty of free seats there , and I know what the view is like from there, as its usually where I sit at home games

happy to be a Luddite me :)

Im amazed at the number of seats that have now become available as the season ticket holders who didn't purchase tickets are now out for general sale
