Ben Woodburn

Yes that's a good shout ref Moose, I did think on Saturday our central midfield was getting a little overrun, Shandon isn't the strongest defensively - Moose could indeed be utilised there again.

Agreed. I'd accept Bran there but I think both Bran and Baptiste are better further up the pitch.

Shame for the lad who had looked a player recently, I think we have the talent in our own squad to cover him though so hopefully it gets our own players on the pitch more

Hopefully Sykes can come in and flourish - that will help us in the long run as he is actually our player.

Bad news just starting to look like a very good player. I was watching Mount at Chelsea yesterday and Woodie is not far behind him.
Looks like Forde will be out as well.
Time for the fringe players to step up!!

Yes he’s been getting better but not sure your username is apt saying he’s not far behind new England and PL star Mason Mount!

Considering we're told that he also doesn't rate James Henry or Sam Long, then I think he'll be ok! However, I wonder if we'll look to move Brannagan slightly forward into the role Woodburn had with Baptiste sitting a little deeper. Or maybe Hall playing in the position he finished the West Ham game in.

It does however leave us pretty short, especially with suspensions likely in the coming weeks. I suspect that Moore will return to cb to free Mous up for a bit of protection in the middle.

I suspect that signing the free agent midfielder has become a major priority. Maybe Lopes could step up as he certainly has the technical ability and I think we will see a few possibilities tried tomorrow.

KR calls for better protection for flair players from the powers that be

yep, he's 100% right too IMO

He's not the only one being targeted, Fosu has had lumps kicked out of him in several games this season. You can give yellows for those types of foul, but another player could just come in a whack him. Never really considered sin-binning, but it could be a useful deterrent. That or telling the refs to do their jobs properly, but which one of those is more likely?

2 Midfielders with big expectations lost in a short space of time (Thorne and Woody). Would be nice to see them both play for OUFC again (I am more confident about Woodburn doing that, than Thorne).

Now time for Sykes and the other promising youngsters to step up. Get Agyei playing to allow players like Henry/Fosu to operate more centrally if need be.
I thought Sykes did really well against the ammers so I wouldn’t have any qualms about him starting.

Sykes did really well on the right against West Ham but I'm not sure he gives us enough strength in the middle. Hall was surprisingly good in that role and maybe better suited to that position as his pace has gone. As others have said, tomorrow gives us the opportunity to try out a few players to hopefully get the best fit.

He certainly could be if he read the game a bit better and had better movement. That is what he is lacking. He has the flare. Perhaps not far behind is a bit optimistic!

Henry can play down the middle as well.
And (whisper it, so Karl can't hear) we could even play 4-4-2 and include both Mackie & Taylor. They've obviously got the complementary skills of a traditional front two.

We have plenty of options still.....just less than we did a couple of weeks ago, now that we've lost Thorne, Woodburn and (probably) Forde.

Horrid injury, poor lad. Will take some considerable rehabbing but hopefully he’s firing on all cylinders and Bin-dipper FC are happy enough with his game time, to see that least ‘19-‘20 is best served at United.

How is fracturing someone's foot not considered a dangerous tackle? EFL need to do their jobs and introduce a way of suspending players who injure others, even if the ref doesn't call it in the game. Of course they'll do sod all though and our 'actual footballers' will continue to get battered by dirty brutes like Accrington and Peterborough etc.

Bet of a left field shout but I was seriously impressed by Fabian Sole for the 18’s on Saturday. Looked very confident and comfortable. Could easily plug a gap for me.

Cadden can play midfield and bring Long in at full back
