Its just that , a scenario it might be 60% , or 40% , or nothing.
Until it happens nobody seems to know, barring the Calais Mayor & Port Manager who said the predictions of doom are a pile of merde.

Much depends what is delayed, I`ll accept that, but if its avocado`s for Waitrose its no major issue!

As usual your grasp of the English language is debatable; you fail (or pretend to fail) to understand a perfect definition of how to construct a worst-case model. Didn't fancy addressing the nub of the article, then.

Your faith in business is touching, do you really think a minister in the UK or in Europe will be able to turn a switch and fix any problems overnight? Let's not consider the effect on people who need time-dependent medicines, or on those in work who are unable to afford to feed, clothe, transport and heat themselves after the prices rise as a 'result of difficult trading conditions' that will be claimed by your friends the 'large companies'.

Can`t beat a bit of Project Fear eh?

Price of baked beans/imported foods goes up then eat less of them, change the diet.
Can`t get your £3 t-shirt from Primark? Who suffers the consumer or the child in the sweatshop in China/India?
Trading conditions have been "difficult" for the last 3 years, at least once its done there will be some stability.

Oh and the Scots are revolting!! :ROFLMAO:

Be interesting how the scottish supreme court rules on the suspension when they sit next week....concievably scottish supreme court could instruct uk parliament to reverse the suspension. Which would really would pour fuel on the brexit fire  .... & become yet another erroneous decision by Bozo & his unelected advisor Cummings

Your message to the poor and hungry is "Eat less". Nice.

Brexit = take back control from unelected eurocrats

Boris Johnson = elected by tory party members as Pm, but as yet unelected by the people of the Uk, acts on the advice of an unelected, non party member (Cummings), lies about his intention to prorogue parliament, misled the Queen to unlawfully prorogue parliament ( Scottish Court finding), now apparently the UK electorate 'wont benefit' from hearing about operation yellowhammer according to Bozo's hand picked cronies ?

bit of a mess isnt it

How the Supreme Court rules will be interesting. The Summary Judgement from the Scottish Court is damning:

People in council houses are usually fat anyway. If they got a job they could afford tinned peaches rather than spaghetti hoops.

This is true in part - people who live in council houses are addicted to sugar and take no exercise, preferring to watch Sky, Netflix and play on their Game Boys (whatever they are).

However, Mr Iain Birdio Smith, your typical Tory Brexiteer slur may not be accurate: " Around 15% of households surveyed when using Trussell Trust foodbanks between October and December 2016 included at least one person with some work or income from employment, according to a recent academic study. We don’t know about the people using food banks not run by the Trussell Trust. "

How the Supreme Court rules will be interesting. The Summary Judgement from the Scottish Court is damning:

"this was an egregious case of a clear failure to comply with generally accepted standards of behaviour of public authorities. It was to be inferred that the principle reasons for prorogation were to prevent or impede parliament holding the executive to account......"

This is what happens when you let experts interfere with democracy. Who is this Justice Brodie fellow? Miss Jean Brodie was probably his grandma and she was a traitor and Socialist (Nationalised) so he's obviously one too.

I think IIRC he is Robert Hardy, who has worked at P&O, EuroTunnel & Kuenhe+Nagel and is/was a member of the EU Commission on Trade. His current "day job" is Director of Oakland Invicta, a Supply Chain Management company. Only know this as I used to work in exports and his name would crop up as a facilitator when we had something new or big in the offing.

On a separate topic, does Scottish law have any jurisdiction over national bodies?

(to Oxymoron)

Wouldn't he have worked for HMRC if he 'ran customs'? But he had something to do with it - look at Oakland's press release here.

"Together they have created Oakland Invicta, a 24 hour border checkpoint in Kent. This amnesty service is offered on a commercial basis and is already attracting keen interest from major brands looking to protect the integrity of their inbound supply chain.

“Border Force can’t check every vehicle. The majority go unchecked,” explains Robert Hardy, Operations Director of Oakland Invicta. “It takes us just 15 minutes to check the cargo and many clients are considering making it a mandatory process.”"

If it's this guy - isn't it just a bit strange that he didn't introduce himself and his company's role? Doesn't what he said contradict the statement about 'Border Force"? Isn't he just selling snake oil?

Don't know, don't really care, just showing a polar opposite to any one given viewpoint - but isn't that just the embodiment of everything to do with this whole sorry state of affairs.

Even if it is just Snakeoil...he is definitely trying to sell something....

And Breitbart[emoji1787] ...should be renamed "The Tinfoil Hat Daily"

No-deal Brexit will mean that the value of the pound will be less. Perhaps Osborne misunderstood what thus means for the UK housing market... For Joe Public, housing costs will be little different, however, for foreign "investors", UK property will be much more attractive and affordable... So, we're likely to see oligarchs and others with vast amounts of excessive wealth, plunder the UK housing market. This will keep prices pretty much as they are, and possibly restrict supply even further, with housing kept empty.

More and more Brits will be the slaves of foreign landlords. Working hard to pay rents that will be taken from this country...
Wow talk about putting one and one together.
So just so that I am clear:
Brexit means the £ goes down =
Loads of oligarchs and foreign investors coming in and buying our houses =
British 'slaves' to the foreign oligarchs.

Lets see. My bet is that nothing of the sort will happen. Maybe small number more will come in but any effect will be minimal.

I just cannot see any deal offered by the EU being accepted by parliament. The back stop will just not wash.
Well there was a labour MP who said that she definitely would vote for May's deal. When asked why she never did before she suggested that Labour MPs had been whipped against it.

Foreigners have already been buying property in the UK anyway, there have been whole developments in London that have been directly advertised and sold abroad.

Very true. And my understanding is that has reduced a little recently.
In reality of course who owns the houses in the uk depends on the supply and demand, the economy, mortgages etc.
The suggestion that a lot of uk houses will be owned by oligarchs due to Brexit in.my view is ridiculous
