2nd Test The Ashes - England v Australia @ Lords

I feel sorry for Warner, having low scores and missing catches. NOT! LOL!

The trouble with dropping batsmen is the cupboard is pretty bare, we are constantly changing a couple of the top order for the same results, we just don’t produce test batsmen in English cricket at the moment.

Agree. And the strategy is to give players a few games to prove themselves (or not)
Before the series many were saying that Burns 'was s**t'. To be fair the selectors gave him a chance.
We have already tried half of ths batsmen in.County cricket!

Jofra could have just won us the test with that bouncer at Smith. I suspect when/if Smith gets to bat today he may be a little reluctant to hit certain balls especially when Jofra steps up to bowl.

Let's try and get atleast 250 though and bat through to tea.

It will be interesting to see what affect that has on Smith in the rest if the series.
I suspect that he won't want to face Archer much so it could be a turning point

They could probably do a better job batting.
Meh. sure I deleted it immediately, but evidently not! Deleted now and replaced by this post. The lesson kids is, don't stay up late drinking wine, watching cricket (TV) and Oxford (ipad) and keeping an eye on the rugby (laptop) and then expect to be able to post in the right thread :)

Love how Aussies are calling for Archer to be banned as if a legitimate ball is worse then the convicts sandpaper antics.

Yes mainly Aussie and Indian fans on Twitter calling for him to be banned. Strange considering Pat Cummins bowled 11 shorts at Jofra Archer the day before.

Yeah as soon as you bowl short balls you accept that someone could get hit. And, in fact, you could argue it’s worse bowling them at Archer who is a bowler and therefore worse at dealing with them than a world class batsmen like Steve Smith, as well as taller and so harder to avoid.

Anyway the plan for today:

Throw everything at the ball, hit plenty of fours and sixes, all out by lunch but with a lead of 300-350. Then after lunch attack them like crazy and hopefully skittle them out, final wicket coming in the last over of the day...

At the end of the day its Smith's fault for not wearing the protective gear provided. If you know you have the possibility of coming up against someone who bowls 90mph+ short balls surely you'd be a bit more cautious and wear the neck protection.
