General Napa

Could be back in 6 months with a strait break. It will be longer if there is extensive tissue damage as well.

Confirmed that it is a broken leg although no more details as to the extent. Wishing the young lad a quick and successful recovery and know that the club will do everything to support him through this time.

Lets hope he recovers well and can be back on the pitch as soon as possible.

6 months is absolutely extreme.

The bone will have healed with or without surgery in 6 weeks, with modern physio and rehab facilities match fitness in 3 months is possible.

Far less disruptive than ligament injuries.

has had a couple of unlucky seasons. hope he recovers well and comes back a stronger player

I guess it depends on whether there was any muscle/ligament damage along with the break. But you're right, should hopefully be back around Christmas if everything goes well.

Having suffered a horrific broken leg playing soccer for Watlington FC when younger, and without any detail of the seriousness of Napa's injury, all I can say is there are "broken legs" and "broken legs" - In Napa's case it needed an X-Ray to determine it was broken, so one assumes it wasn't a compound fracture of Tib/Fib which would have been obvious and for a professional footballer devastating - compound fractures are generally pinned, and you can be walking on it within a week or so. In his case it sounds more likely to be a hairline fracture, which can heal much faster. After a year in hospital, with compound Tibia break, complicated by my body rejecting the steel plate, bone grafts, skin grafts and eternal infections my personal prognosis wasn't good - Guys hospital suggested removing the "dead bone" and replacing it with plastic, but the prospect of having an amputation and then having the stigma of one leg being shorter than the other was so shocking that I discharged myself - luckily the leg healed perfectly and 6m after leaving hospital I was playing again, although I definitely lost a yard of pace. Let's hope Napa has the lesser of two evils and it is "just" a hairline fracture, which for a young man like him could see him back pretty quickly - the biggest challenge may be the psychological challenge of playing without the fear that a crunching tackle will break it again. Good luck young man. Chin up

sounds nasty. good to hear you ‘got back on your feet’ so to speak

It was a really horrendous and unnecessary tackle. I felt so sorry for Napa as you could tell how desperate he was to play on, even trying to stand up at one point.

I hope their number 2 realises the impact he could have had on a young man's career.

Get well soon, Malachi. Hope to see you on the pitch again soon.

OWS ....

The same goes for the bloody ref.

Get well soon Malachi, hope for a speedy recovery.
All the best.

Echo others, best wishes Malachi and I hope the treatment is successful and problem free.
