Home Match Day Thread +++ 13/8/2019 EFL Cup 1st Rnd: OUFC v Peterborough FC +++

Both teams have had spells in the game but we’ve had more, and longer. There was no need for the challenge on Napa, the ball was there to be won but he absolutely smashed him. Bad, late tackle on Sykes as well after that.

Centre back pairing looks absolutely imperious. I like Sam Long and he’s been fine but it’s clear how much less he offers going forwards than Cadden.

Hanson is a weird one, he can put a foot in well and spray a great, flat pass but also give the ball away in dangerous areas and misplace easy passes. I would rather have Gorrin, Ledson or Kashi over him that’s for sure.

Sykes and Brannigan play nicely together.

We MASSIVELY miss Whyte - we’d win this if he was playing. Forde looks ok but has no pace, and Hall looks very out of sorts. We need more pace out wide to be a very dangerous team - all of our passing is in front of the defence.

We also need a striker!

Going to be one of those games decided by a howler or a moment of brilliance imo. Howler more likely to come from them, moment of brilliance also more likely to come from them.

"We'll be back after half time" Oh I hate iFollow. Saturday we could listen to Radio Oxford in the break..

That's normally the case. I remember there being something said about this from Chris Williams when these messages started happening that they've relayed to whoever runs it to let the RadOx play throughout HT, must've slipped through the net tonight though.

Looked like he had the ball and the Posh player kicked it as hard as he could against Napa"s leg.
Followed through too, their number 2 did

Absolutely infuriating for those of us outside Radio Oxford catchment area that iFollow closes down at half-time! Why … ?
