A bit of activity in the transfer market this week so far;

Out
Ellie Noble (to Lewes WFC) - after 11 years at the club moving on for a fresh challenge

In/Retained
Lauren Haynes (Retained) - Important signing, captain, midfield rock.
Georgia Timms (Retained) - Fans and players player of last season, 10+ years at the club, hardworking striker.
Sophie Baker (Retained) - Another long serving players stays (10+ years), midfielder
Amber Roberts (Retained) - Did well early in the season before a bad injury, battled back and now ready to kick on.
Kayleigh Hines (In) - For her 3rd spell, 2013-2015 (leaving for WSL1), 2017 returns but suffers season ending injury, now fully fit and raring to go
Evie Game (Retained) - After coming through the academy spent a couple of seasons (Reading & Aston Villa) before returning last season, an exciting player who deserves success.
Paris Sercombe (Retained) - Came through the academy and has been GK understudy for the past two seasons, when playing she's done great
Ellie Kirby (In) - fullback from Portsmouth WFC
Daisy Mclachlan (In) - striker from London Bees
Georgia Clifford (In) - former Reading defender
Cheryl Williams (Retained) - Striker who joined midway through last season and adds a different dynamic to the existing strikers
Carly Johns (In) - Wide player who looks to get forward and get crosses in, been good in the couple of pre-season games i've seen
Brogan Moore (In) - goal scoring midfielder from Reading Development side
Gemma Sims (Retained) - for me a key retention, solid centre back who's comfortable on the ball and oops up with the odd goal
Immy Lancaster (Retained) - Midfielder who made the step up from the Dev squad a couple of seasons ago and looking to show what she can do
Aimee Watson (In) - GK from Bristol City, Welsh caps at under 17 & 19 levels.
Cat Beaver (Retained) - Combative midfielder returns for another season
Ellie Seares (In) - comes from Stevenage WFC where she was player of the season
Steph Mobbs (Retained) - Solid centre back in her 3rd season
Steph Bent (Retained) - Athletic fullback who covers slot of ground, loves getting forward
Emily Allen (Retained) - Last seasons top scorer OUWFC and the league returns after a brief stint this summer with Cardiff Mets WFC trying to help them reach the qualifying stages of the UWCL.

I'll try and keep this updated as best i can.

Emily is only with Cardiff Met for the duration of their UWCL campaign; she’ll be back afterwards I believe. Depending on how they do, she could be back within a few months. I'll attach a UWCL schedule.

I'm only speculating but Evie said ’good luck and come back!’ implying she would still be with us once Emily returns.

Thanks Craig, I got that impression too. I'm relying on you to help keep this thread going too :)

Well done on keeping this updated Nick. I think we're looking really strong this season. 16 announced, how many more do you think we'll get in, 6 maybe?

Oh, and Aimee Watson comes to us from Bristol City, and I'm sure you'll be happy to know, is Welsh! She's played for Wales at U17 and U19 levels.

Ah brilliant Craig, thanks for the info. Always good to have some more Welsh in the squad.

Definately looking very strong all over the pitch, glad I don't have to pick the team.

I thought you might approve. ;) While we're on the subject of goalkeepers, I heard Paris had a very good game against Lewes last weekend.

I haven't seen or heard anything from Flo or Lucy during pre-season, so assume they are both moving elsewhere. Although I haven't seen them announced by another team either yet, so could be completely mistaken.

Picking a starting XI is going to be tough. I've only seen two pre-season games, so it's hard to judge the new players, but we look strong all over the pitch.

Top 4 for me will be us, Crawley, Cardiff and Yeovil. In what order though, I have no idea.

Feeling quietly confident about the Keynsham game - they lost their best striker to Cheltenham. She scored 63 last season and cited lack of progress from the club as one of the reasons she left.

Sorry, very muddled post. ☺

Exactly the same with Lucy and Flo so as you suggest looks likely they've gone elsewhere.

On that note Bobby has gone, saw a tweet that suggested that but obviously i could have got that completely wrong, trying to think of others from last season who haven't been mentioned or seen in pre-season.

I'm really pleased for Paris, she's been around a while now and needed a chance to make her mark so looks like this could be her season to do that.

I see Cardiff Mets won their first UCL game with a last minute winner and play Hibernian tomorrow (i think) so will be interesting how that develops with Emily, imagine trying to fit her back into that XI. I've seen the same as you and in both games they started slowly before finding their rhythm and taking control. The Lewes game sounded alot more controlled from the start so good news.

Typically i can't make the Keynsham game as i am playing in a footy tournament..gutted! Because of that i'm going to try and get to Watford away.

Don't think you'll be far wrong with your predictions, Crawley looked good when they beat us last season although early in the season before we found our feet.

I keep saying it but i'll probably see you at Abingdon Utd on Sunday.

I missed that tweet from Bobby. Yeah, it certainly looks that way to me as well. I'm not overly surprised because her chances were quite limited towards the end of the season and she's a decent player, so will understandably want to play. Add the fact that we’ve signed Georgia Clifford, for example, and game time would have been even more limited.

Yeah, me too. She's been at the club over 10 years and had fairly limited chances, so it's a credit to her for sticking with us. Not many players have that kind of loyalty.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lucy and/or Flo ended up at London City Lionesses. At Watford away last season Flo's dad and brother (assume it was her brother) were standing next to me and discussing how now that she's leaving uni that she wanted to focus on football. But who knows. Women's football is much harder to read than men's, with fewer opportunities at higher levels and a lot more secretive.

Picking a starting XI is going to be tough. I haven't seen enough of our new signings to guess an XI but Daisy looks very good. I'm going to assume Evie will play further forward and then when Emily comes back she’ll move back into a full-back position, maybe? Although I personally prefer Evie further forward; she has an eye for goal and scares defenders when she runs at them.

I thought Crawley were good against us, but like you said, it was early on in the season and we aren't the same team now. The reason I think they'll do well is how they've recruited and done during pre-season. They beat London Bees 1-2 at the weekend, so must be a decent side. Yeovil look good, Cardiff will be much the same as last season and we are stronger overall than last season in my opinion. A lot of '6 pointers' this season - can't wait.

Yeah, I'll hopefully see you at Abingdon United.

Disregard the deadline passing comment by the way, it's September 5th. I read a comment from Kent Football United who share their Twitter account and it threw me off. ?
