CWC19: England V Australia

That is what's known as a complete and utter battering. 1 to go, where's everyone watching the final then :):):):)

Yes Sky who have the rights have done a deal with Channel 4 to show it on terrestrial TV

Man, a lot of things today have taken me back to 2005, and this is another!

I think the 2005 Ashes was the last Test series to be shown free-to-air in Britain? And that was on Channel 4.

And it was not only the greatest Test series of my lifetime, it was also arguably the greatest ever commentary lineup.

Benaud, Boycott, Grieg, Atherton, Nicholas, Slater and Simon Hughes in the Truck.

If we win on Sunday, it will be amazing. And if we then win the Ashes on top of that, it will be unbelievable.
But I don't think anything can ever beat 2005 as the greatest cricketing summer!
(although I'm sure some people older than me will say 'Yes it can', and bring up 1981...…...)

England just looked like a team on a mission today, Australia like India yesterday, looked cocky and thought they had a right to be there.

The finalists are the teams that had major wobbles in the group games and had to up their games; the teams that went out are the ones that relatively cruised through the group stages and bottled it when the pressure was on.

Don’t underestimate NZ. Williamson is a zen surfer skipper. They have the best attack in the competition.

The key - obviously - is our opening pair.

Best moment today - of many - the Buttler run out of Smith

Roy out and can't review because Bairstow wasted it.

And he didn't touch it. Silly Bairstow.

Although, in fairness, Bairstow probably only reviewed under advice of Roy.

Nevertheless, it was all kinds of plumb.

Shame it didnt smash him in the B*****s tho aye ???

NZ are a very, very good side - full respect from me for them. They field well, bowl well, the tactics are smart and while the batting has been inconsistent, they are a tough team to beat.

This game feels like Buttler's statement game as he's had an ominously quiet world cup so far
