Ex Player Ex-Player Thread

O'Dowda talks about getting past "being one for the future" at 24. Also some interesting comments on social media when he was at Oxford. I guess he got fed up of seeing the snake emoji.

The bit where he talks about being the youngest at the Republic of Ireland training doesn't bode well for their long term prospects if he is the youngest at 24!

Sadly, his comments just echo what social media has become .i.e. a place where people think they can say what they want, when they want without any comeback and most likely would never say face to face.

In fairness, it said that they were split into groups, and he was the youngest in his group so a bit pointless without knowing the background.

As for social media, there is a load of crap on there but at 24, and having been in the games a while, he should know this. Some players you never really hear about. Rob Dickie is someone who appears to keep himself to himself. Others are always in the media. It is the choice of each player what they want to say and to who, and they take the good and bad from that.

I'm not sure who it was, possibly Ruffels, posted a picture on Instagram of a goal celebration after scoring a crucial goal, and one of the other players commented that he would be getting a fine for that.

So presumably the club does have a set of social media rules and guidelines for players.

It looks like Everton are going to leet Kenny go out on loan, with Schalke favourites to take him.

Matt Green left Salford after 6 months on Saturday.

Joined up with Grimsby today
