.... supporter led takeover goes through ....

Although now they're being thrown out of the National League for bad reporting, and defaulting on football creditors....

Might mean a reprieve for Aldershot, and then could that even mean Oxford City not having to move into the National League North??

While it seems harsh that they will again be suffering for the bad management of a previous incumbent, it may be easier for a fan-based (and probably very low budget) club to compile a squad for Step 3 of the pyramid rather than trying to compete in Division V. Probably better to be in the Conference North the season after on the way up rather than the way down!

It's quite an extraordinary story when read.

No ground, no manager, no players and a potential drop of two divisions. Ouch!

Although in a way, that could potentially make it easier to build a new club, no dead wood. Although having no ground will be an issue. I would expect them to drop all the way to the bottom of the football pyramid.

Intriguingly, the club that may benefit is Aldershot, a real Phoenix of a club that rose from despair to the Football League. My old crew mate is a lifelong supporter and often mentioned how the supporters had raised hundreds of pounds to keep the club going. Used to look forward to our chats over the barrier at "The Rec" always amused the stewards who thought we might be "sizing" each other up! (both of us well past anything of that nature!)
As you say, the potential is there to build a new club. Let's hope so.

No, City are staying in the North, was speaking to little brother about this earlier, he has spoken to the league, they won't be moved whatever happens.

Mind you, Aldershot have had their fair share of rebuilds

It appears Oxford City will be staying the NL South as Gateshead have been relegated to the NL North with Aldershot winning the AGM Cup to stay in the NL Premier. Could be worth lumping on Aldershot for relegation if their fans comments I've seen are anything to go by.

The tinpottery is strong right there.

I am glad Aldershot are staying up purely for selfish reasons, buying a house just outside there so only need them to win one qualifying game in the FA Cup to make the first round, us get pulled out away to them in the draw and bobs your uncle, Fanny’s your aunt I have a game up the road from me next season.

almost a 'home from home' too, with the in effect 3 stands around The Rec' ground pitch ;)

Is that right, never been to an away game there for some reason, town looked a shithole when I drove through it and caught a glimpse of the ground, didn’t notice they had copied the hipster, artisan 3 stand look though.

turnstile end has basically a wall and a walkway behind , and thats about it .... covered stands behind the other goal and down both sides
