If memory serves wasnt the result of Scottish independance vote to stay part of the United Kingdom, and part of the Union. The act of Union , joining England and Wales, with Scotland introduced, via an act of Parliament. Under King James 1 (or James 6 of Scotland) was commissioned in 1603 and finally became law in 1707. The Union flag was introduced in 1606, and until Ireland became part of Great Britain in 1801 , this was the Union flag....

After Ireland became part of Great Britain, the Union Flag incorporated the St Patrick cross to become the Union flag that we know today

According to many news outlets the leader of SNP and the Scottish parliament Nicola Sturgeon intends to all but ban the Union Flag in Scotland. Which, albeit she has apparently taken a backstep away from the alleged 'quotes' attributed to her on the subject, nonetheless it seems that she has forgotten the result of the SNP driven Scottish independance referendum, and appears to want to live up to her little Jimmy Krankie tag too?

It turns out it wasnt Sturgeon's doing, it was her predecessor (Alex) Salmond, who sneaked through (flag) legislation in 2010.

Wonderful correct use of the Union Flag, rather than Union Jack [emoji106]
