Bolton’s Problems Continue

Chinese group looking at a Bolton takeover with Sam Allardyce returning.
I can't see Allardyce being interested in fighting a L1 relegation battle if they start with a huge points deduction though.

Bring him a wheelbarrow of cash and a few pints of wine and I’m sure he could be persuaded.

Apparently the Sam Allardyce link has been suggested as rubbish but a group from the Far East did look around the ground.

.....and they were accompanied by Mark Taylor, a deal fixer who has worked with Allardyce at 4 different clubs,
More than enough for the Sun to start a rumour.

Well you know. Bolton terrific club. L1. Breath of fresh air. Top, top, top club. Absolutely, terrific owners. Ken Anderson, fantastic fella. Nico, Herman and Crouchie, up North here we come! Now Bondy pack in that management game and get back to being my driver. Well you know. Jam Roly Poly anyone? Terrific.

It should be but remember Blackpool in theory should have been as well.
Blackpool were solvent though unlike Bolton....

Bolton are certain to get a points deduction for going into administration and possibly an additional points deduction for not playing that game when the players went on strike. Didn't Blackburn get a points deduction a few years ago for not playing a game when some of their players had a bit of a cold or something?

Their prospects for next year are really going to depend on whether they can secure a buyer in the next couple of months.

If they can, then they're a decent sized club; they should be able to pull together a good squad for League One and end up comfortably mid-table by season's end....maybe even pushing for the playoffs, despite the -12 start.

But if they can't, and their good players all up and leave for other teams that, y'know, will actually pay them - they could end up being a Portsmouth-style disaster. Don't wish that on them, but it would certainly make League One easier next year...….

So this is nothing to do with the manager, players or supporters but they are the ones who will suffer next season whilst the EFL will let the real culprit, Ken Anderson, the owner, just walk away without any sanction.
It is about time the EFL introduce legislation to make all owners financially and legally personally accountable for such failures. For starters they s

But the -12 is just for going into administration. They are also facing a penalty for failing to fulfill their fixtures and the suggestion on 5 Live recently was a further penalty anywhere between -8 and -18 points. The decision will also be taken by an independent panel so there will be no Shaun Harvey leniency as per Blackpool.
Starting on between -20 and -30 suggests they will be fighting relegation and nowhere near the play-offs.

We'll see - but last time they were in League One, they got 86 points. Subtract 20, and they would still have finished 8th this year. Subtract 30, and they would have finished a spot below us in 13th.

Of course, that's because they were playing in League One with what was, in essence, a Championship-level squad. If they want to do that again, they'll have to sort out the club ownership pronto.....which was really what I was trying to say in my post.

That's true but don't forget that Bolton have gone into administration with debts of £41.6m.
Is any potential new owner going to buy them out of administration for that sort of money? Unlikely, so the administrator is bound to start selling their most valuable assets (their players) to pay off the creditors.
As you say, we'll see, but I think they could be starting next season with a pretty threadbare squad, not even a shadow of the L1 squad that got to 86 pts last time.

Can they sell the players? They’re able to leave for free due to breach of contract I think.

Without trying to make things worse for Bolton, I thought if you went into administration during the close season then you were relegated 2 divisions?
