So who’s for the chop, and who gets a new deal.

Any idea when this is announced? I’ve not heard anything!

Soon, we have 13 players signed up for next season and new contract offers out to Nelson and Hall.
We also have plenty of youngsters to back up the squad like Jones, Lopez, Spasov etc.
The owners want to add 3 or 4 new players.

Obika & shearer will be gone, be interesting to see how many of the lone players come back I don’t see us going back for Carruthers Graham. Sinclair & Garbutt we might but the budget will depend on that, Kashi I think will be the one if Mous becomes number 2, don’t see us get Browne back he’ll be in the championship

If we lose any of our top talents/valuable players in Eastwood, Dickie, Brannagan, Whyte then we need to reinvest once again

3/4 players won’t be enough more like 7/8 as we definitely need:
Right Back
2 Centre backs
Left Back (cover)
2 Wingers on the left
2 Strikers

Jack Steven is good enough to be number 2 so need to waste a wage there again plus get Rob Hall on a Mackie type of deal,

RB not essential out of all those but if there’s any money left over then yes.

Last year the official retained lists of all clubs was released on the 13th June. However Karl usually likes to get his announcements done early.

We've done most of our culling from the youth team already. As Mystery Yellow said, I think Obika and Shearer will be let go (though if Shearer calls it a day he might get some work as an understudy to Wayne Brown), along with Jonte Smith, I think he was only short term cover. Would have been given a chance at the end of the season if he was training at the level required.

Hall looks likely to accept the reduced contract terms, Mousinho has taken up his option of another year, Stevens will probably do the same if he hasn't already.

Of the loans only go back for Browne
Pay off Mackie and Mous
No contract offer to Hall

Mous will likely move to a player coach role. And Mackie has played a massive part this season and isn’t on much as it’s a pay as u play deal. I’d be more than happy for them to see out their last year without the need to waste money paying off to very experienced professionals

KR was suggesting that we would get in a right back but Long will cover for left back.
CB of course we need to replace Nelson. The question is could Mous and Jones be back up?
Agreed re wide men although Hall could be one if those (?)
We definitely need 2 strikers one of those could be Sinclair?

For me Jones is 4th choice, fair play to him he’s ok/well but he’s still only 17 & is naive, as a caller on the Radio Ox said you wouldn’t want to be rely on him to be cover next season for more than a hand full of game, the next 2/3 years is all about developing to him to become a top player (like Bapiste)

On the whole, Macc fans tend to be complementary about Kelleher, seems like SC has helped him improve, think all who replied would like to sign him.

No I agree 4th choice (although some young players improve very quickly so ul to him to.provd himself)
At out level you cant have top players as back up in every position.
Mous is a bit of an issue. If we get Kashi back then we have him, Hanson and Mous as DM.
I know he makes mistakes and hasn't been great at CB but presumably he has to be back up there if he stays as a player?

We’ve got Mackie contracted for a further year but I hope we won’t be relying on him too much as one of our main strikers next year. I know he’s become a bit of a cult hero with his shithousery commitment and heart on sleeve displays, and he’s a very important personality to have around the squad to help the younger players, but it can’t be ignored that he doesn’t score enough goals and there’s a suspicion that his legs have gone. A great impact sub when we need to close a game out but I hope we’ll be looking for better if we aim to challenge in the upper reaches of the division next season.

think with a young squad it’s essential to have the experience that Mackie and Mous have

Need more than 4. Atleast 6 new players. X2 CB, X2 Strikers, 1x Winger, 1x Full back.

To put Erick Thohir’s words into context, he said 4 players added to the current squad. I think he’s assuming we’ll be able to retain the current players on loan that Robinson would like to keep, and then add 4 more to that. Potentially an interesting summer ahead..

With only 13 in the squad, to even remain competitive we need those 9 to 10 players to have a first team squad of 23.

Good call. I think he would be good on the coaching side for the youngsters in the squad with his experience.

If he meant on top of the current squad then that would be a potential promotion chasing squad.

The question is will the league be as competitive next season or not.
