General Youngsters in the run in?

I'd like to see a keeper given game time, a centre back and then Jonte Smith.

A keeper so we can see if we have a viable backup to Eastwood

A centre back the same re Nelson

And Smith - what's the point of signing him if we don't give him a chance?

We're safe. Since 1990, only Fulham in 1993-94 have been relegated with 52 points. Whilst nothing is certain in football, I can't see us picking up no points whatsoever from our remaining games. Even if that unlikely scenario emerges, I still think we're there.

I think Jonte Smith needs a full 90 if he's ready fitness wise. We've made an effort to bring him here and it'll be good to see if he's capable of this level of football.
yeah i think we are but would like them to carry on and push to get as high as possible. would love to see some of the youngsters come on, thats why i said give them 10 or 15 minutes hopefully when we’ve got ahead in a game. play too many too soon and risk dropping a bit

For me Jonte Smith should be the first youngster to be tried out, talked the talk in interviews and should be given a fair opportunity to walk the walk. Sad to see Little let go, personally I thought he looked better than Napa, wonder if money was the reason
I would rather see James and Jones (and Steven's if we are going to keep him- I have a doubt we will)
Only a hunch that Smith wont be retained and those who do play need to kick on next season.

There’s a really good video interview with Dan Harris on ifollow. Well worth a watch.

Just a note on the youngsters - it'll be great to see a couple get a run-out in these last couple of games, but we need to be careful not to write any of them off based on 10 mins in a end of season game, which has happened many times in the past (with fans and managers).

Hope Stevens finally gets a game in goal - I think we've been overly reluctant to give our young keepers a game when opportunities arise for a number of years now, not even in Chrewckatrade or League cup. It didnt have to be an extended run, but not sure Eastwood has HAD to play as many games as he actually has over that time.
We have a number of young keepers at the club stuck behind this logjam - STevens, Agboola, Clayton, Harris.... and Crocombe before them, so we are not going to be able to keep all of them as they graduate, but we need to get to a stage where we are confident in one of them to step into the seniors for a spell/game if required, rather than blooding someone else's youngster on loan instead...

I know Clayton has been released today, but the point still stands
Hurrah - I guessed right!!
Gald to see him finally get a chance, and by all accounts do well.
As I say, would have liked to have seen him come in earlier somewhere along the line, but happy to see that he held his own when he finally got his chance......
Hope today's game goes as well for him.....

clean sheet would be ideal for Jack today..... he has a 100% cleansheet record in his first team appearances so far ;).... more of the same at shrewsbury this afternoon please:)

Hopefully this will increase each year over the next 3 to 4 years.

Interesting that there is no correlation with overall performance ... Barnsley at the top, Luton at the bottom.
