I have blown really hot and cold on KR all season, but to be fair to the bloke, if you discount the dreadful start, he has done pretty well once he got the team organised.
I don't much like the way he comes across, but again, he does appear to have learnt that shouting and waving his arms around the whole time on the touchline doesn't achieve much. The players seem right behind him- you wouldn't have loanees running across the pitch to celebrate if the dressing room mood was poor.
There is no need to extend his contract- his stock isn't that high at the moment, and he will know that.
His pre-season signings were very hit and miss, but we don't know how much of that was down to Tiger's ahem 'budget management'.
When Tiger flew into Ireland for transfer discussions, and KR was then seen on the mobile (presumably to agents?) while we were actually playing a friendly was an indication of what a mess Tiger was/is making of running the club.
My faith it Tiger is zero, and it's obvious that KR has had to deal with all sorts of nonsense back of house.
So- given that- I would certainly keep KR, but let's see how close season goes. We need to sign fewer loanees and more players who actually want to play for us, as they see it as a step-up. The two NI players are exactly the profile of players we should be signing.
All of this, of course, assumes we have a club next season. But that is another thread......
Agree with all of this.

this is going to annoy a lot of people

fair play to him, think he deserves it after our turn around

**sorry just seen its already been mentioned

Why will it annoy a lot of people? It reflects positive progress made on the pitch - not sure who can argue with that. And if it alerts rival clubs higher up the pyramid that KR is doing a great job at OUFC then even better...

KR deserves this - the run over the last month has been sensational when you consider we were right in the s**t beforehand. It's between him & the Wimbledon Manager.

All to play for on saturday then ? ;)

because whatever he says and does there’s a fair few who will always dislike him. same as those on the oxford mail comments who find any excuse to have a dig. i know no manager would be universally liked but you’ve got to give him credit for the turnaround

Wilder in ? - No in all seriousness we’ve had some decent players come to us this season which I like, only thing that concerns me is how long it’s taken us to click - On the other hand, fair play, he’s got it right in the end, let’s see how it goes up until Christmas, think off the field is where it will be crucial in the next 4-5 months, things need to change and quickly in that regard.

I don’t get it. Of course he should get nominated and probably win it. He’s won four out of four so unquestionably yes.
The only problem is MOM has a habit of casing a loss the day after

I'll reserve judgement until we see his dealings in the summer transfer market.

I agree it’s all about this Summer. I don’t think it’s fair to judge him now because clearly last summer wasn’t his doing. We signed some absolutely terrible players and that gave us such a terrible start to the season. Hopefully that has now been put right. It would seem so based on January transfers.

Such fine lines though. Great form on paper in the last 8 games will keep us up.
But late late goals, missed pens and other teams failing to take their chances has given us at least an extra 8 points in that period. Where would we be if Blackpool or Coventry put away some of their many chances. Or the Bradford goal was disallowed or Wycombe score the pen? Or Ruffles doesn’t pull off a goal of the season with virtually the last kick of the game? Have overall performances been that much better? Not really. But confidence is high now and we should start to see what this side can do.

I think the off the field issues have been a big influence too. KR has had so much to contend with off the field that he’s actually done an excellent job. I’m sure many managers would’ve just said... bye bye and let us sink into league 2. So it’s just as important to get the HMRC, training ground, stadium, wages, recruitment right in the summer.

I think Judge KR based on September to November and then start talking contracts.

Well he hasn’t got Manager of the month for March. That honour went to Mick Harford of Luton.

Must mean we’re set for 5 in a row on Saturday.

Lets also face it, there are some bloody awful teams in this league and probably every team outside the top 5 lack any sort of consistency. The last few games we scraped out some priceless victories and so moral/confidence is high amongst the players, probably for the first time this season. I don't want to belittle their achievement of winning 4 on the bounce, or our strong current form, but I would question whether it is something we should now expect to be the new norm. I think we will win today but there are some stern tests in the last handful of games and it is an opportunity to see whether the way we (now) play is good enough to compete next year. If we get hammered in any of them (even if he is blooding U18s or off watching targets) or we end up on going on a losing run, then maybe this feel good phase is as good as it gets with KR in charge. I do hope not. I have been critical of KR tactically and of his media comments/transfer strategy but am only interested in the performance of the team. I don't really care if the manager is a chimpanzee who entertains players at half time juggling bananas, if that is all they need to grind out wins every week. I think a decision has to be made as soon as the season ends, to either sack him, or extend the contract till the end of next season, and that decision should be taken when we look at the final league standings and how we compete in the next 5 games and especially when the heat is turned up at places like Luton. If there is to be a Messiah coming, in the form of Thohir, who is planning to inject a huge budget, surely he would have other plans for the skipper at the helm.

Nelson will be off, but I would be surprised if Eastwood follows. He has set up a goalkeepers academy locally and his family are settled so can't see him desperate to move. Whilst we don't know who might come in for him in the summer, he is the one position we really don't wnat to be changing so unless the bid was ridiculous I can't see him leaving.

I'm also not sure why we won't be able to keep some of those mentioned. Kashi will not be on a high contract and we should be able to pick him up for a nominal fee, whilst the other three are all potentially available for long term loans again. We might not get all of them but I would imagine that we would have a good chance of getting Graham or Sinclair next season without busting the bank.

So, there is every chance that we won't needto make wholesale changes and can hopefully continue the improved transfer buisness that we saw in January.
Ridiculous for a L1 goalie is £100-250k :-(
