Where do you prefer to have your pre match pint?

Most people are creatures of habit I guess, if I have time I will have a few pints in town as I don't like the blackbird.

The George as its not always ridiculously busy and doesn't take too long to get a drink.

I used to go to the Catherine Wheel when I parked up in Sandford

For some time now my routine has been town first, usually Wig and Pen and then up to The Blackbird.

During the days of the Manor ....... initially The Black Boy Old Headington, then in later years at various times and for different matches, Royal Standard , Brittania, Butchers arms at different times and also OUFC Supporters Club (especially when taking my then young kids to home games), very handily located outside the London Road End turnstiles ......... for certain home games ( to 'welcome' visiting hordes) Whites Bar The Roebuck and similarly strategically located hostelries in the Town Centre

Since moving from Headington to Greater Leys.......

The Priory (rip)....which was absolutely ideal until the leasee closed it and allowed the grade 2 listed building to fall into disrepair, with no intervention from the owners

Gave the Catherine Wheel a go for a while ....just a bit too far from the ground for me

Tried the 12th man bar/ manor bar, whatever it was/is called in the quadrangle.... limited choice, over priced , loooong wait, overly officious stewards , ....combination of the aforementioned plus being blatantly LIED to, ( the landlord/owner of the stadium NEVER gave OUFC a percentage cut of any sales from in there)

Now it's The (Black) 'bird for me.... who can resist the legendary pre match buffets on offer ?......and its a relatively short walk to the ground from there

I went to the cinema yesterday at the ozone and saw that a new sports bar is opening at the complex, seemed to have a lot of pool, snooker tables when I glanced in.

Be good to have another option nearby.

Same it looked good.

Was due to open last week, but the lorry carrying the snooker equipment crashed on the a34.

The drive was under a rest , and the que’s went back for miles

`Bird for me...... purely because its a proper pub and the folk in there know me so none of this queuing lark for me. I tried the Quad once........ Catherine Wheel post match if m`lady is collecting me.

Manor days it was the Standard or the Club when Jim P was running it.

I'd normally drink in town (Wheatsheaf) and then bus/taxi in to BBL when ready, sometimes will head to Littlemore rugby club, which isn't too far and is always easy to get a beer
