Fan's view - Bury

Take heart Paul, at least you didn't listen to clotheads post match repetitive drivel. (well, actually, you have heard it all before.....)

The walk back to Sandford was in almost complete silence.

Sounded dreadful Paul. I believe I've encountered you in a similarly distraught mood before, and I don't mean the 1-5 at Cambridge which was just numbing.

Remember Barrow 3 Oxford 0 on a Friday evening in the Conference? I was with my wife, who you know well through work. After the 'match' we met you. Nobody felt like engaging in conversation, even though you'd not seen Paula in years. Quick hello then off into the gloom.

I've read the match thread. How many people are really fooled by two uninspiring wins against Dons and someone else? We are in trouble.
Was that Patterson in charge and live on Setanta sports? The manager whom Pep is emulating in "good bunch of lads" attitude even though they're crap?

Excellent as always Paul. You did not mention that, from the first minutes, Clotet was arguing with his management colleagues & barking incessant instructions to his players - now that shows that something is indeed wrong.

That reminds me of wondering just what Wayne Brown and clothead were discussing on the touch line. Didn't look like tea or coffee? at half time!

It's colder here than in Spain. You can't expect Pep to take his hands out of his pockets let alone wave them in the cold air.... Training in the Canaries after Tuesday as they have a break..........

I honestly cannot remember seeing you there. I remember the 3-0 though, just. Sometimes I just shut down. I'd be terrible company in such circumstances so therefore best not to engage in conversation with anyone.

I wondered at which point you would stop being fascinated by Pep's PR line that we have as many points as last season and focus on the grim reality in front of your eyes.
As an admirer of your general perspicacity, I am relieved that - at last - it wasn't mentioned this week. Two trains headed in opposite directions may end up at the same station for a while. As a passenger you are ill-advised to assume the same destination.

But it will end in a train wreck!

Yes: pretty much spot-on. And I notice the comment about the boredom. In the East Stand we were really nodding off 30 minutes into the game. And the saddest thing? We KNEW what was coming.

"To my left there’s a fence and a carpark. To my right there’s some people and a sterile concrete wall. Then there’s a game of football in front of me. Take your pick, there wasn’t much to choose between the three."

That summed the whole thing up perfectly.

I absolutely was not fascinated by Pep's PR line, whatever that was. I was of the opinion that we were not doing as well as last season so thought I'd check out a few facts. It was then that I discovered we were game for game better off this season then last season. A few FVs ago I said I expected that to change and for us to fall behind as we upped our game in the second half of 2016/17. If I have an opinion but there are facts that counter that opinion I'll not ignore those facts. I think plenty of people do though. Cheers

I wouldn't blame James Henry for giving it back to the moaners.
At the moment there is no singing, no flags, no support, no atmosphere; just people attacking the players.
I sometimes think Oxford fans want to return to League 2.

No they don’t want to return but
Maybe the those in the ivory towers do along with their employee.

For years we used to dream of playing in League 1. We used to look at Walsall and Fleetwood and think, Why not us?
Now we are here it's all a bit crap.

To travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive

It wasn't crap last season. It has been crap a lot of the time this. But it wasn't crap at home v Pompey or the Gills or indeed v Bradford even though it was only a draw. Or away at Peterborough and Plymouth. Those games all seem a long time ago now though.
