Can't disa
This is another bad bad bad display by England. It only doesn't look utterly appalling because it is less bad than the first test. But the Windies are miles ahead on first innings with four wickets left and a pitch that is getting no easier. You're right TonyW - Curran is an 'English conditions' bowler (and a very good one) but it's a waste of a place in the side in these circumstances.
We will lose this test and therefore the series. Absolute rubbish.
Can't disagree although if memory serves Anderson in his early days was a home bowler and had to learn his trade. So Curran learning from Anderson is not a bad thing.
England are losing primarily because the batting has been woeful.

The batting has been woeful and at times, the West Indies batsmen have been incredibly lucky. John Campbell didn't know his ass from elbow but just couldn't near enough to the balls get out. England's batsmen have been nicking those.

Oh dear.
Embarrassing.
I was going to go to this Test. Glad I didn't. Looks like lasting well less than 3 days.

Beaten by 10 wickets in three days. Absolutely pathetic.

Surely heads have to roll - primarily whoever organised this tour so we didn't have any proper acclimatisation / warm-up games. And the opening batsmen. And the other batsmen. And the fielding coach. And the batting coach.... etc, etc, etc.

The body language in the England team is awful. Too many players don't seem to want to be there and they aren't prepared to grind it out like the West Indies. They deserve full credit for playing with heart, passion, grit and skill. England have displayed none of that and just gone through the options until the players naff off to the IPL or home. The Windies deserve to black wash this shower of a team. They want it, England don't.

The stunned look on Mark Ramprakash's face at the collapse said a lot about his work. Utter pish. The sooner Bayliss naffs off, the better.

A list of England players to emerge from this tour with credit...

... That is all. Shambles. The 2 worst decisions were dropping Broad in the first test, and picking Denly, who just isn't a red ball opener.

Having watched some of the Big Bash, Denly's form suggests he isn't a white ball opener either.

It actually pains me to see how bad we are. We are pathetic. They're all too pally pally and congratulate themselves when things go well ONE time and think that's it they've done enough. Root talks so much rubbish, and he should be nowhere near a discussion of best player in the world - he's some way off Kohli, Williamson & Smith's level. When was the last time Stokes did anything with the bat for England? He's living off a great innings that happened 3 years ago now. Have to say I feel sorry for Jimmy, he's taken bucketfuls of wickets yet in the last 5 years time after time after time our batsmen have gone out there and folded like a deck of cards and before he knows it he's back out there having to bowl again.

Looking at what Holder has done for the WI, should Root step down from.bring captain and concentrate on his batting?

Its very clear that for various reasons our batting is fragile. The Aussies who should be there for the taking will be loving this!! The Windies batsmen may have had some luck but they are prepared to grind a score out, unlike ours who always seem to be in one day mode!!
I think Root should just concentrate on his own game. But, who do you appoint? Are any of the others automatic choices? Stokes maybe but would they give it to him?

Yep. Where do you go for skipper though? Stokes never going to happen. Butler?

Or promote somebody who is a good captain but not particularly standout at County level, a la Mike Brierley. Lets face it, currently it would make no difference with our top order if they didn't perform so well with the bat.

Key match winner Keaton Jennings is back in the team tomorrow, replacing Foakes. Well done England, well done.

At least we'll all be at the football tomorrow when we inevitably lose the toss, are put in and collapse. I reckon we will be 70-4 by the time I get annoyed with the RadOx post match blether and put Radio 5 on hoping they might keep us up to date with the goings on in the Windies.
Or is that a bit optimistic? :(

It shows what a poor squad we picked.
I get the moving Bairstow down the order, but Jennings against the quicks?
Surely Wood needs to replace Curran as well?

It's the fact they picked Jennings in the first place when it was blatantly clear his technique is not compatible with even Fast Medium bowling. They left someone like Gubbins at home for Jennings. Madness, I tell ye!
