The Winter Cricket thread

The players don’t know whether you’re listening or not [emoji6]
It's alright, we are safe now. I've started to listen and none of the streaky edges through the clips have gone to hand - so I am obviously bringing them luck. :)

players who specialise in white ball forms dont seem capable of even coping in proper forms of cricket, such as red ball/ test matches

as @SteMerritt posted re the ball that got Root out, wow!, it sure was a good un!

Another Wicket gone. 55-4. Switching off now, this is just as depressing as out Transfer Window.

Looks like a school match where the staff are playing the 12 year olds! Embarrassing.

thats more ins and outs for England in this cricket test match than at the breeze block on deadline day .... so far!

Yep we are now on the heady heights of Nelson (111). Both feet off the floor please.

Having had my rant during the last Test about the poorly constructed batting lineup......

.....I think we were talking about Sam Curran last summer, saying that he looked a real threat in English conditions but questioning whether he was going to be effective in less seamer-friendly conditions, bowling in the low 80s as he does and without the complete skill set that Jimmy brings.

Well, he's now taken two wickets across six innings this winter, and he's clearly the distant 5th choice for Root today.

It was absolute madness picking him above Broad in the First Test - but frankly, I'm just not sure he's worth his place in the team outside of England at all at the moment. Been saying it for ages, but we desperately need someone with some genuine pace to play in overseas Tests.

Let's not sugarcoat it, this is a bad Windies side we're losing to. They got battered by Bangladesh in their last Test series.......

We desperately need a new influx of talent with both bat and ball.

This is another bad bad bad display by England. It only doesn't look utterly appalling because it is less bad than the first test. But the Windies are miles ahead on first innings with four wickets left and a pitch that is getting no easier. You're right TonyW - Curran is an 'English conditions' bowler (and a very good one) but it's a waste of a place in the side in these circumstances.
We will lose this test and therefore the series. Absolute rubbish.
