Ask Tiger

How has he chucked OxVox under the bus?
In the 5 min ramble he mentioned Oxvox’s meetings with tiger over recent times, not in the public domain and not mentioned by Oxvox, I like many others now await their comments on these meetings.

I actually believe, some middle management at the club WANT us to be relegated so that they can reduce the wage bill(s).

That interview in the Mail is also an attack on the s**t and pathetic recruitment of Karl Robinson and you have to question that very seriously as one of the key factors in where we find ourselves.

Cameron Branagan and Rob Dickie - bought in by Tiger - young, hungry and investments. A la Gavin Whyte and Mark Sykes whenever he'll get a look in.

All the other crap, brought in by Karl and Co. Meanwhile, the manager still out shopping his mates - Kashi being a 30 year old guy who has no value.

An MD & others who has not paid attention to keeping his eye on the detail. Staggering admission.

Do you reckon Tiger’s still got money?

It’s very difficult to buy players with resale value in the January window SB. However Sykes might be one such player.

Feel there is an awful lot of mithering on this forum. We definitely have enough talent in the squad to stay up. Let’s give them some support.

Still we still have money Tim?

The phrase … "recruit, develop and trade"
Who is going to recruit the players? Whoever recruited Garbutt and Smith seem pretty useless
Develop the players? Don't really have much faith in the man management skills of the current 1st team management to develop young players eg last season two ex Man City youngsters, despite their promise disintegrated under our management team and again example Garbutt & Smith.
Trade? Who is going to negotiate the sale? An ex school teacher, with not even any experience of negotiating a deal in business, not alone football. Or a Chairman who is not in the Country. Or Robbo!
Really?
I am not defending a lot of what the club has gone in the past 2 seasons but surely you can see that the development of young players is not the big issue?
Sure Smith has been a disappointment (But he was NOT signed to develop as he was only a loan)
Baptiste, Whyte, Branaghan plus Lopez Spasov and a whole load of other youth team players have come on this season.
KR has a proven record of developing younger players.
So sure have a pop at the club but some credit where it is due?

There is only one direction we are going and that is down at the moment, talk of sustainability is pie in the sky!
when you say going down, are you suggesting the team or club?
If the team then that is just a little odd after having beat the best team in the league in the last league game?
we probably need to win 6 league games.
Surely the team need backing now and having just beaten Pompey some perspective is required?

I'm well aware that the power of this forum is equivalent to a tramp shouting at the passing cars. But that's a different matter to the supporters' trust nodding through a takeover by an individual with huge question marks over him. Whether or not it would have actually changed matters is neither here nor there. Sitting back and saying nothing whilst the club is put in the hands of such a questionable individual, with a deal which sees the outgoing owner leaving the club in a parlous state is borderline negligent - and when you add in the gushing press release blowing smoke up the a**e of the departing owner, well.....

I do hope that if this forum ever does close down that @Eaststandboy has registered trampsshoutingatpassingcars.co.uk for us to relocate to.

Ah the reality strikes, no matter whoever is right or wrong on here this is only a forum for people to put their views good or bad and has no meaningful action to the clubs future.
The people who deal with the club and the millions of pounds required to run it take no notice of this forum, Oxvox, local media they have a business to run regardless of any comment on here or anywhere else.

I think people get to hung up on what they put on here and the perceived importance of this forum, this forum hasn't got any power just as Oxvox it seems, so apart from people venting there frustrations at this sh*te situation, nothing else is going to happen.

There are teams in worse situation than us, their fans have taken to all sorts of actions to try and change things and have not worked, when businessmen take on football clubs the fans are of little relevance when it comes to opinions.

Exactly, butwhat else can we do but try, persevere and continue to hope that one day things will actually swing the other way.

What were/are the amounts and timings of the payments due to DE? I think they were posted on this forum at some point.

Trying to blame someone for not questioning tiger arrival.
Do you mention your fears to the Oxvov committee at the time about their actions?
What foundation was there apart from the reading situation which we didn’t fully know about, we didn’t know who was involved at the time if we do now.
Like I said, do we go to the catalyst situation that started DE departure to start the criticism.
I admire your loyalty Mick, if not your consistency. You've recently been critical of OxVox's apparent lack of openness, yet when their lack of openness in relation to the takeover is flagged up, that's just me "trying to blame someone"....

As for "apart from the Reading situation", are you serious?! Imagine if Kassam took over another club, and their fans were raising what he did to us, could that be dismissed as "apart from the Oxford situation"? And it was more than just the Reading "situation". I flagged a number of individuals Tiger was closely aligned with, and some people tried to shout me down because there was no evidence that they may be involved this time around. Yet, all the time OxVox knew that these people were involved and said precisely nothing.

I'm also glad that NM did mention the meetings with OxVox. Particularly at times like this, there is absolutely no place for undocumented meetings between the supporters' trust and club officials, and I was pleased to see OxVox's report of that meeting sent out this weekend.

Hi Foley,

I'm suggesting both!

We have a downward mentality at the club ( I am referring to NM's hour long uninspiring question time last week) now forgive me but he sounds like he knows more issues are to come before the 'stability' plan kicks in. To me downward pressures like that will only filter down to the team.
In fact he came across so uninspiring I felt if relegation god help us comes it is an acceptance..

While we are on about the team, yes agreed we played very well against Pompey although they were in my opinion not totally at the races, but then we get turned over at Bury easily? State of our season.

You quote 'perspective' I always try to be pragmatic and I say try!

Oh, and I think we need more than 6 to stay up, oh for a little bit of consistency..

Now for a Fergie quote : It's squeaky bum time!

One last thing...

Since Kassam stepped into our lives it has nothing but been misery albeit a tinge of joy of a Promotion and with DE /Mapp / Ashton, but in the end people come and try with us but the constant is Kassam. Now we have Kassam / Tiger which scares the life out of me..

There will be no stability or progress until the club owns a stadium, we barely get anything on top of season tickets / match days as it is.
We need ownership of sponsorship around the ground / corporate / Running gigs in the summer / Staging away matches on a big screen, the main one for me is match day experience, we need something nice to sit in and be proud of. Atmosphere!
You get the picture. I mean this could mean an additional 2+ Mill annually to be ploughed back into the club structure...

We also seem to be concentrating on things in the wrong order, E.G. Paying for a U23's, surely secure the 1st team and L1 before investing elsewhere? great notion but we are not a club in that place yet...

I’ve talked to a long standing Reading friend this morning, who is suspicious of Tigers role. I told him I was looking forward to renewing rivalry next season, but was worried it would end with Cheltenham and Salford.
His reply was he is a crook and an asset stripper in the mould of many 1980s ‘owners’. How the fit and proper qualification is applied to charactersvlike him must be a fairly loose test.
When I mentioned that we have little to strip, he said he must be after something.
I suggested land if there is a new ground...there’s much talk about that.
His comments were Didcot or cheaper. That’s what was mooted before under Maxwells. Oxford Wanderers anyone?
Still no striker signed, only three full days left

It is obvious Tiger is the chairman for a few months at least and KR is going nowhere.
As fans we are very keen that we stay in Division 1 so let's get behind the club until we are safe.
100% behind the team on match days from kick off till final whistle.....however, if things don't seem right, outside of matches, I will ask questions of those best placed to provide answers.... which often gives a similar result as pissing in the wind, especially for the past season or so

The ingredient that is definitely lacking is urgency. How much does he want the club to succeed and has he much to achieve it.
We urgently need investment in the team to avoid drifting towards league two. I hate to say it but I hope we’re not not being taken on another journey
