the MD on one of his rad ox q & a sessions on radox stated there had been a meeting between oxvox and oufc owner/etc on sat 19 jan , a meeting that lasted 45 mins?

taking xvox committee members 'work' on a voluntary basis on board, so no-one is expecting an instant 'update', when can oxvox members, and (later?) the oufc fanbase, expect to see the results of said meeting in some form of update?

I feel bad for this committee. Influencing such incompetence is almost pointless and they’re also facing a wall of silence.

If I were them, and they certainly shouldn’t comment or make public their thoughts on this, they should be spending energy networking to find new buyers to save us in six months time.

Has anyone got Stewart’s number...the timing could be perfect.

We he owns Sunderland and will want to get to them to the premiership to claim his cash?

I’d say Championship, a lot of additional monies needed to get to the Premiershite.

I thought we need someone with big money behind them to take this club forward.
Hasn't £30+ million been banded about by some on here, do you get parachute payments from div1 to div 2 ?

league 1 to league 2 doesnt even qualify for single sheet tissue payments

That I guess is where Sartori comes in.
Sunderland are plenty big enough to play in the Premiership and would get really large crowds IF they go up from L1.
The Premiership is where huge monies come in if looking to sell.

I agree, I just wonder if Stewart wound jump ship slightly earlier e.g. Championship.

I mean, a possible £20m+ profit in one year wouldn’t be a bad return!!

An update covering the meeting in question has just the the inboxes of OxVox members.
And a very good update to boot.

It is now clear that Oxvox have taken off the gloves and are ready to stand toe to toe with OUFC. Frankly, I'm not surprised. The latest media debacle, featuring the MD, was a clear demonstration of the incompetence of the present set up. Niall McWilliams couldn't have sounded more lost if he had tried.

Well done Paul, keep pushing. And, if Oxvox have to do what neither Radox nor Ox Mail will, so be it. Ask those questions, demand answers.

Not sure what the balance is and know it’s difficult to position, but I still don’t think the stance is strong enough.

For example, what costs have the club incurred re; training ground which wasn’t expected?

Just feels that they’ve fobbed you off with B*****s again e.g. c’est la vie (that’s life).

The reason I say this is, I hear that minor bills haven’t been paid at the training ground e.g. diesel for generator etc (might not be true), hence no electricity/heating/hot water etc! Also, contractors haven’t been paid and others refuse to do work unless paid in advance. Again, could be B*****s, but the same concerns keep going around.

Based on this I just feel the challenges towards the club needs to be stronger to seek further clarification, especially when Tiger recently said in his interview with Radio Oxford/Jerome that he’d paid further outgoings for the training ground (£20k I think), so if this is true it wouldn’t align to what me and others have heard, Having said this I know it’s a fine balance for OxVox, but I feel they/we need to take that risk by being tougher and asking/repeating those ackward questions, if not, the future might not be as bright as we were led to believe they would be.

I am inclined to agree with you. If, as you say, bills have not been paid then the club needs to be brought to account. I would though temper this with a desire to work with the club and to do that, communication needs to be kept open. Where Oxvox have a distinct advantage is with their local contacts and knowledge. Some of those unpaid bills may be owed to supporters, even members.
Until such time as the club refuses all dialogue Oxvox will need to remain reasonably civil. You and I though, can tell them what a bunch of half witted, incompetent, lying toe rags they really are!

Can anyone confirm that the electrics at the training ground are powered by a generator?

The reason I ask is, I understand that Blackpool used our training facilities, but were unable to shower due to no electrics meaning no heating, lights and hot water. This was apparently due to no diesel in the generator because supplier hadn’t been paid.

So as I understand it, Blackpool trained, but had to return to the hotel for showers etc!

The reason Blackpool used our facilities was because we had used theirs or was going to use there’s when we played Fleetwood.

In addition to that, a number of trades persons have also not be paid for works completed at the training ground and are refusing to do future works unless paid in advance.

Also, even though there’s more pitches to maintain and lay the foundations (literally) for these pitches going forward, the initial budget had remained the same, but even that was cut back/not available when requested.

Like I say, these are things I’ve been told by people who I believe would know so I’ve got no reason to disbelieve them, but if this is true it would indicate as most of us believe that there is limited funds if any at the club.

Is it Oxford's responsibility to pay for the pitches as we are only tenants?

As we know, footballers are sensitive souls, and any issues with the training ground would have a far greater effect on our players than it would on a visiting team who would be only having a little run out prior to their game. Yet, not only have we not heard any grumblings from the players, this also is alleged to have happened whilst team spirit was pretty good.

We'd beaten Plymouth away in the cup, beat a decent Blackpool, then went on to comfortably beat Spurs under 12's and battled to a decent draw in Doncaster. Not once did anyone question the mindset or preparation of the team, or raise any concerns about what was happening behind the scenes.

So maybe these people that you believe would know are slightly mistaken, or more likely, talking crap!!

Scotchegg, I don’t believe they used our training facilities when they played us (15/12/18), but when they played a team near us e.g. Wimbledon or Pompey, so either 29/12/18 or 12/01/19.
