Chairman tiger on HMRC -OM report

Just listening to a bit more of a Tigers interview on RO. Sounds like the plan is to stay at the Kassam now, and build bridges with FK. I hope we didn’t pay those planning consultants too much..

In fairness, any new stadium would be a good few years away at the earliest so it makes sense to keep relations with Kassam decent for now, even if other irons are in the fire.

Yeah you’re right. Fair comment. To be honest it’s hard to decipher exactly what Tiger means in the interviews. In trying to eek out an answer from Tiger, Jerome tends to put words in his mouth, which Tiger then just repeats..

These "unexpected" expenses were these not covered/partly covered by the non budgeted money from cup runs?

That’s what Nathan tends to do e.g. ask closed questions.

Kind of worrying that Tigger came out with the same old KR crap about how hard everyone is working and the KR excuses why we’re crap!

I don’t think that one can know with any certainty what Thanakarnjanasuth is currently intending to do – it is quite possible that even he is not entirely sure at the moment – but when trying to discover more about him, I came across a couple of articles which were written in May/June 2016 when he was at Reading, around 2 years after they had assumed control.

There are obviously some major differences in circumstances as Reading own their stadium and were operating in a higher league but what was striking about the articles was the familiarity of the script – surprise at how much it costs to run a football club, need for further investment, potential property developments, claims to be totally passionate about the club and the location (“Reading to be a second London”) and absolutely committed to seeing the club promoted, instances of players signed by someone other than the manager, loan players, lack of any clarity as to the wealth of the owners or the financial position of the club, even new training ground facilities!

Does history repeat itself? I don’t know but 5 months later they started negotiations to sell and departed in June 2017…

Tiger will bail before the end of the season you mark my words!
He's already started muting that he might not be the face of the club in the furture, NOT the face! he's the flipping owner!

Complete bonkers, thanks DE!! what did we do to deserve him!

Thanks for the links, Oxe - they make interesting reading. The second one especially - change a few details and it could be in the OM tomorrow!

But he left Reading with a pretty penny. He leaves now and he leaves with what, exactly? However much the club is worth (best case lower L1, worst case L2) with the same or worse assets than when he bought it...

Doesn't seem to be very sensible to me, but then what is sensible about this fellow?

Myles did tell us this back in October 2017. What is extremely unclear is what Tiger wants with the club, and if he is in it just for a financial return, how he is aiming to get it.

I’ve honestly given up trying to work out why Tiger is here, what his plans are and who’s here with him. It’s a waste of time listening to him as he only repeats the suggestions put to him by the interviewer. You learn absolutely nothing from them. I can’t work out if it’s a cultural or language thing, whether he’s just very astute and keeps his cards close to his chest or whether he’s just winging it while treading water in concrete boots and sinking fast. All we’ve got to go on is instinct and gut feeling. My gut feeling when he walked through the door was that things were very wrong and, although I’ve tried my best to give him the benefit of the doubt, my gut feeling today is that things are sliding one way only, and that’s to a very sticky end I’m afraid.

One thing that did concern me was when he was asked about the day to day running of the club. He was full of praise for NM, saying he does a great job running the club on a day to day basis. It all gave the impression that NM is literally the only person holding everything together while Tiger is absent. There was no mention of any other of the directors being involved in the day to day business as was suggested before. It all feels a bit shoe string budget.

DE sold us to the person that would give him the most money back. I.e. pay for the club, agree to the player asset (whereby money for players who were signed under DE time goes to DE).
Not the person who would be best for the club.

I agree with the comments about Tiger stepping aside. It’s costing more than he thought and it looks like there’s little mileage in a new stadium or cash to be made on the existing dump.

I reckon he will be gone before we ever get a clue about why he was here, a strange period in the clubs history that will barely be remembered (assuming we survive it).

Flag gate and OxVox supposedly going behind his back to do a deal with Kassam regarding the purchase of the stadium.

Stepping aside for whom though? Thohir and co. with the financial clout having laid the groundwork, or selling on to someone else?
