Fan's View - Portsmouth at home

Depressing stuff on the ownership front, Paul .... But I distinctly saw you smile at one point during the afternoon.

I think the most telling point you make is that all the bad publicity (article in today’s Times) that the mismanagement brings must affect the thinking of any potential incoming players. Would I join a club that has been shown to have financial problems and is currently struggling at the wrong end of L1? It’s a hard sell for Robinson who has my sympathy on this matter. In addition to the search for a striker we are desperately in need of a Director of Football who can coordinate all the player issues outside of coaching and playing.

And why not. The off field stuff can be forgotten briefly when watching OUFC play well and win.
Absolutely. Made all the difference to walk back to the car and the 1.5 hour drive home following a win and, an entertaining game. Sobering thoughts followed Tiger's meandering thoughts post game on Radox - does the man actually have a clue what he's saying? - but still got home with smiles on our faces.

An honest accurate report Paul, hopefully after next Tuesdays game you can write about our new addition(s) Maybe one of them
May have scored.?

Hope so. But couldn't care who scores as long as we score and in doing so score more than the opposition.

I was trying to read that over someone’s shoulder on the train this morning so thanks for sharing! Interesting to note that KR is fully aware that he has underachieved this season.

@Paul B - Good write up as always.

A suggestion for Rage Online as I don’t post on the forum over there. Jerome was querying who we had played more times - Pompey or Swindon - on Saturday and I thought that under the Ad Hoc queries you could include the number of times we’ve played each side with a Top 20 Most Played Opponants or something. It would be good to see who we come up against most often.

I’m still waiting for concrete evidence that Tiger and his board are going to use their finances and skills, expertise and contacts to take our football club forward. The evidence we’ve seen so far indicates we’re more likely to travel in the wrong direction but I do acknowledge investment has been made in the U23’s etc. That’s not the team that’s going to be playing the next 18 games as we bid to stay in League One though is it?

If memory serves me right, didn't Tiger finance the signings of Dickie, Brannagan and White?

weve played Pomey marginally more times than weve played scum .... its something like played pompey 63 or 64 times, scum 60 or 61? ....cant say I know much more on the subject though, however I'm sure there will be experts on yf who can provide exact stats

60 against Swindon and 64 against Portsmouth, so as records go Pompey are out most played opponent according to Rage stats. I daresay there are some teams we played tonnes of times as Headington United from 1900 to 1950 but the stats don't go back that far. The reason why I posed the question to Paul about including the stats on which opponents we've played the most is because I'm wondering who may be in third without trawling through each team. We've played Southend 53 times so they must be in the top five at the very least.

When we played Portsmouth in that Alfie Potter game at Fratton Park, I walked past two Portsmouth fans and one said to the other 'Huh, just think. Not long ago we were playing AC Milan. Now we're playing Oxford!' I thought that was arrogant given the numerous times we'd played each other. Dining out at the top table had given them an inflated opinion of themselves.

I hope they reflected on their words once the final whistle went on that 4-1 defeat for them!
