Away Match Day Thread +++ 08/01/2019 Cheltenham Town v OUFC Checkatrade +++

Yes it's only the tinpot trophy, and yes we didn't win in normal time against lower league opponents, but hopefully we can get some belief coming back for the Fleetwood game...

If we could get a striker in, and Carruthers back to add to Sykes and Graham, then we might just get a result on Saturday.
Does anyone have any news on Carruthers, as there was talk of a cameo tonight from him.

Don’t know about anyone else but I’d be more than happy with a Wembley final and preserved league1 status this season. That’s the target if everyone sticks together.

In all honesty, most of us will simply take staying in league 1 so of course Wembley would be an added bonus.

I don't want to knock what is your most positive post in weeks, but I would think that Saturday maybe too soon to get the best from Sykes and Graham. But you're right, these two, Carrathurs, keep Nelson and find a striker who can come straight in and we are maybe not too far away from being able to put out a team that will keep us safe.

The good:

A goal at last
A win (of sorts)
Sykes debut
90 mins for Jordan Graham
Only the one injury! (Sam Long - dead leg and should recover sharpish)
Great pens and great saves from Eastwood
£40k in the bank

The bad:

It’s a draw against an also ran League 2 side. Hardly a green shoot of recovery
A bad 15 mins suggests our confidence is still fairly low
A lot to first teamers having to play a full 90 ahead of a long journey on Saturday
No transfer news from KR

Eastwood doing a great job telling it like it is on radox.
Agreed, a very honest assessment of where we’re at. He also said several times about the urgency of getting strikers in. Just wondering if he’s a bit pissed off with the current situation, all a bit different to the vision sold to him when he signed his contract?

Yeah I got that impression too. His reputation is sky high and must be some frustration there. Pleased to see him apply pressure upwards publicly but professionally.

You think?!
