Updates 6/1/19

It's interesting to see the wider update regarding Tiger. Whilst there are still some questions to be answered, I think the situation around the HMRC has been reasonably explained but I guess it will really depend on what the exceptional additional spending was for. The fact that OxVox were comfortable with the reasoning and feel it could benefit the club in the future is enough for me.

Equally it is good to see that there are some real sites in mind for future development. Surprisingly after @The Hawk gave assurances that Bicester would be the new location, this seems to have been dismissed. Who'd have thought??!! We always knew that there would be commercial confidentialities with any site so I'm happy that progress is happening even if this will stay behind the scenes for some time.

I guess we just need to see how the next 3 weeks pan out in regard to getting the right players in and helping us to safety for this season when hopefully things will be in place for a more positive 2019/20 season.

Very encouraging updates. It’s so much more positive to get SOME idea that things are going on behind the scenes. Just a little bit of sensible information goes such a long way and helps to keep the fans ‘on side’. No information just provides a vacuum which only encourages negative rumours and speculation.

Now we’ve had this update, I agree it’s only right that people get behind the team to help get us out of the mess we’re in, while obviously continuing to keep a watchful eye.

Very well done again Oxvox.

Firstly thanks for the minutes and I hope that the committee also had a lovely time with family at Xmas and a peaceful and productive new year.

I hope that this puts to bed for the sane Oxford fans any perceived Oxvox concerns. The arrogance of some people who seem to think that volunteers should drop everything at Xmas time beggars belief and in my eyes demonstrates the pettiness of a number of keyboard warriors on this website.

The committee as demonstrated are involved in a number of issues which will not be resolved at the click of someones’ fingers. Especially when working with the likes of FK.

It appears Tiger has said some things to OxVox in strict confidence. It is quite understandable that some things remain so and we must respect this and not force or expect the Committee members to divulge any bits of information if Tiger has requested that it is kept secret for time being. Hopefully OxVox can monitor what has been said to them and see how it pans out. This is an opportunity of building 100% trust between OxVox and the Football Club.

Frankly it's not good enough. I changed my email address at the start of the year and, despite my not informing OxVox, they have failed to intuit my new email.

What do these people actually do?

Screamadelica ?

I'd be interested to know OxVox's view on the viability of the four potential stadium sites. It is only relative recently that OxVox came to the conclusion that "the most sensible option for a long term, sustainable home for OUFC, is where it is now. The Kassam Stadium on Grenoble Road."

Is there something inherently different about these four sites which could possibly change that conclusion? No need to reveal the location of the four sites, but some sort of indication as to whether they are sensible or fanciful wouldn't go amiss.

I tend to agree.
Oxvox appear to have done a huge amount of work looking the Stadium issue and concluded that the current Stadium developed was the best option.
I guess that Kassam behaviour can always make this a no go but Oxvoxs general view on this would be welcome

I guess there is a difference between the most sensible site, and what may be the best possible site. For example, the ice-rink site in the middle of the city would really link the club back with the city, provide greatest retail/hotel revenue, already has transport links etc, but even if available, this could take many years, a massive budget and all sorts of planning hurdles to put through. Comparing the two, you would argue that it would be "sensible" to stay where we are but if we had the money, time and expertise to manage a move that could be far better in the long term.

Has your thoughts changed if today’s news is real?

It very much depends on the explanation of today's events and how they impact on what happened previously. As has been mentioned, this may be linked to previous payment plans and may quickly be resolved. Alternatively it might be an indication of bigger financial issues, but that doesn't mean that previous events weren't reasonably explained.
