Ex Player Canice Carroll - joins scum

The usual response from the usual bunch of keyboard warriors, clearly bereft of intelligence
Canice is a decent baller who, for one reason or another, wasn't able to make it into the starting 11 on a regular basis. I understand that KR didn't rate him and I heard the feeling was mutual. I suspect the move to Brentford was never about first team football, more about his own development. A subsequent loan to a club quite close to his Oxfordshire home makes complete sense.
Comparisons to Hitler and him becoming a muslim nicely sums up the mental capacity of Ox4Eva and Aylesbury Rich. Grow up lads

Thanks for your side of the story Canice. Still think you made a mistake!

Sure will. Best you get back to window licking.

If you are going to throw your toys out of the pram when people indulge in the very traditional sense of football rivalry, and blanket accuse people of a lack of intelligence, I’d be awfully grateful if you could try to avoid using derogatory terms to people with special needs. It rather destroys your sanctimonious attitude and also says a lot about you and your respect for people born with conditions that provide daily challenge in their life.

CC played perhaps a dozen or two senior games for OUFC. You’ve got to look after yourself in football.

I wonder whether Constable looks at the time he turned down a big money move to STFC and thinks. Yep I should have taken the money.

. We've got better players then him in the youth team anyway. Baptiste,Bradbury,Little,Spasov,James and Lopes will all go further then him.

I agree with that principle, but on that specific occasion, JC was being hung out to dry and knew it. The gun was turned back on the people pointing it. He had other chances to leave and he may well look back and wonder if he should have taken those, but that specific occasion... let’s just say I’m confident he doesn’t regret that one.

With regards to CC, it is what it is. He’s a young man who wants a career in football and if he feels playing L2 football for any team, even them, is going to be a wise move for the long term then that’s just how it is. He doesn’t play for us anymore for whatever reason, so he owes us nothing. I don’t think anybody should be abusing him, and I don’t think he should have to keep his head down and hide from saying he’s pleased to have won a game of football with the team he’s currently representing. Of course Oxford fans are allowed to find it disappointing, or to prefer if it was basically any other team bar that one, but you’re right that it certainly doesnt warrant personal abuse and harassment. 95% of his friends who he grew up playing with were discarded by the club at some stage, because that’s how it is and football is ruthless and unforgiving like that, so why anybody expects some sort of weird, unwavering loyalty from him is beyond me.

Some of the chants yesterday were a little embarrassing to listen to. Maybe it's being older, but I really don't care a whole lot about Carroll going to Swindon on loan.

I didn’t hear them, thankfully. Shameful, really.

Re Constable, the absolutely laughable offer he got after years of loyalty shows why footballers should take the coin when they can.

Bournemouth is probably the one he thinks about more I imagine. Not he needs to - you never know what would have happened.

Still think Beano could potentially become a Rosie like figure at the club if they could find him a role which suits and he fancied it.

…."I'd be awfully grateful if you could".....sanctimonious?
I am all for the 'traditional sense of football rivalry' but my point (clearly lost on you also) is the unintelligent comments on Canice and the comparisons to Hitler and comments on looking like a muslim. Many of the comments on this thread are plain embarrassing. Grow up and get a life. The lad is wanting to play football. Who gives a flying crap who he plays for?. He's done nothing to us

I bet the abuse Sol Cambell got for leaving the Spuds to go the Gooners was real sanctimonious and hateful and plain rude, do you think he was bothered probably as much as Carroll does, but I bet both of them thought they would get some grief for going to their rivals, but I better neither have a flying toss.
Off course people are going to make comments whether it’s stupid, pathetic or crap comments they are going to occur, so you ought to hawmve realises that when Carroll went to the Scum.

I must say I feel a little for CC, he’s a young local lad trying to make a living from Football I would have loved to have done the same and I bet there are many on here who would also have wanted to. I have done jobs I have not enjoyed but done then to the best of my ability because they reflect on me.
I am 100% local boy and man, been a supporter for longer than some on here have been alive, now if I had been given an opportunity to play profession football with the scum or not play I would have had to think long and hard but you know what, to forfill my ambition I MAY have considered playing for them, because as we know most footballers don’t stay at a club for too long nowadays, so to play professional football with the scum for say 2 or 3 years before moving on, may be the stepping stone
(Obviously when playing for the scum against the yellows and given an open goal I may well have blotted my copybook and slipped) .... I don’t know CC and I don’t know the full story as to if he had other options, none of us on here probably don’t know either
I think we need to worry more about the players we have, how badly they have performed generally over this season, the injury prone players we signed, the very unfortunate injuries sustained and what decent players we need and will come to us in what is presently a relagation battle

Campbell moved from Tottenham straight to Arsenal. CC went to Brentford and has joined the scum on loan to get some first team football I should imagine.

Don’t see what the problem is at all. Young lad trying to make it in professional football joins a team that can guarantee him first team football at a competitive level close to his home town.

Seeing as he’s a 19 year old lad who was barely even walking when we moved to the Kassam and has never seen us lose to them I doubt he thinks it as big a deal as some on here or other social media.

Good luck to him and hopefully a few years down the line he’s a good example of the OUFC youth system plying his trade in the championship.

I’ve got far less time for Taylor who messed Appleton around and then proceeded to take the P**s out of us at Bristol than Carroll.

I am not here to discuss any of the comments on this thread except for your use of a derogatory term.

I am pretty sure that Canice knew he’d get some stick when he signed for Swindon and also that 99% of people (with the exception of you alone perhaps) do not believe that the poster was genuinely suggesting that Canice has committed atrocities similar to those of Hitler.

However what I am concerned about is your use of the term “window licker” and the subsequent lack of contrition when given a chance to rescind. It suggests that people you dislike or consider to be dumb should be equated to those with Down Syndrome or similar. These are human beings we are talking about. People who face daily challenge and stigma, who have spent a life time facing condescending remark and bullying behavior from those who either lack compassion or are too lazy and pitiful to learn about their background and their struggles.

I would urge you to think twice before using such derogatory terms and also take one minute out of your forum reading time to read the attached link.

I wish you well as you strive to be a kinder person on this planet

My only concern is that if we knew that Swindling were looking for an ex-age-group international who hasn't quite found his position yet, recently chucked off Karl Robinson's Christmas Card list due to his slightly questionable attitude, penchant for the hatchet tackle and Beauchamp-esque love of home comforts - then why didn't we just flog them Ivo Pekalski for £500K...?

Crickey Ricky, I really have upset you. My use of 'window licker' was not meant in anyway to draw comparisons to folk with disabilities such as Downs. If I have offended then I am truly sorry.
Now back to what I am trying to say (being more careful with my words). Those that compare CC to Hitler and his beard to a Muslim, bearing in mind he is one of our own that fell out of favour with the current management, is unintelligent. Don't get me wrong, I am all for banter at the best of times but some of the comments on this thread and across social media are embarrassing.
Keep it real (it's only football!)
