Bristol Rovers game

Interesting. They were quick to say that the Police weren't allowing it. Why would they lie? (Genuine Question).
The club must have really wanted their home kick off at 1pm! Perhaps Tiger has an early flight to catch :ROFLMAO:

Not sure that’s quite true..

I’ve also heard The club aren’t happy or comfortable with the amount of ticket transfers over to the North stand for this game and are even more angry after their instructions were ignored by someone who should know better.

Ah yes the former chief fax officer.?

Lets hope IF (haha) the riot fence is in use Saturday morning and early afternoon that the club inform supporters via all media platforms, not just twitter (not everyone has a twitter account), and also announce the use of the riot fence over the tannoy too. As OUFC have previously agreed to do, as well as announced the way the will communicate the use of the riot fence to supporters.

As for who makes the call re police inside the stadium and also whether to use the riot fence (or not), I believe @Dave T is best placed to respond as he is currently OxVox representative on the safety group ( unless there's been a recent change to that situation? )

Just a small point here @Sarge, but I don’t believe you need a Twitter account to look at Twitter.

And the policing inside the ground, that your call (maybe not you direct, but you know what I mean) or the clubs. How about the fence mentioned by Sarge, again, that the police’s or the clubs call to deploy?

You mean you don’t know ? The wall is deployed at the discretion of the club. It’s owned by the club, and used by the club. As to police inside the stadium, I believe it’s classed as on the foot print so including car parks. But again is a club decision, unless events take place that require the police to take over. Although I may have misunderstood that bit, so u would have to confirm with pc956

TBH I wouldnt know ....not having a twitter account myself!.... some 'shared' twitter postings ( tweets/ twatts whatever they are??) on here (YF) I can see , others (posted as links, or with footage included) might as well be invisible, as after clicking on the link (or the 'play' button) a blank screen follows

As far as social media goes I can manage FB, along with text (sms) communications...as for the rest, -such as whatschat snapedin linkchat and twatter or whatever they are called?- no thanks, there's a whole world out there to be alive in, which Id rather be doing, than spending more hours than is healthy chained to a handheld device.... luddite old man (such as me) n ever changing technology aint a good mix!

Just to enlighten you a bit Sarge, some people pay for texting but wattsapp is free to text and send photos, it just uses data if not on WiFi so saved me quite a few pennies before I had unlimited text.

If you take the rule of thumb that you park at the end of the stadium you need, and assume it’s in use you won’t be disappointed.

I tend to park on BBLeys, out of choice, ( used to park at the Priory when it was open) .... I sit in SSL (fence end) with me dad, nephew n sister, .... which, when the damn fence is in use makes my walk back to me car a lot longer ( albeit Im still on me way home unlike me dad n co still attempting to exit the breeze block CP)

Club can request police on the footprint of the club and numbers can go up or down dependent on what’s going on.
The barrier is the clubs and always their decision if it goes out. They paid for it so it’s up to them if it goes out.

I would almost guarantee it will be up 2moro mate.

It goes down as a club request, but it's heavily influenced by TVP. When you have the police breathing down your necks wanting an early kick off, the club are hardly going to reject it. The police force is probably one you want to keep on your side...
Not influenced by us at all. Police try and are trying harder to be everyone’s side believe it or not.

Better set the alarm clock for the morning.
Although we are going to the match, just wondering, as it is NOT a "3pm kick off on a Saturday" will it be shown live on that EFi Yellows Player thingy for £10?

Whilst it may not be their decision it does help if the police liaise with the club and know if the North Stand gate will be in operation. The 2 police standing on the corner of East/North stand prior to the Man City game did not know if the gate was going to be in use after the game.

1pm kick off tomorrow Ive got no chance of making that stupid kick off time (working 200+ miles away tonight).... IF it was a 3pm kick off ....as it should be on a Saturday afternoon IMO .... I could have made that ....hey fuckinho

Just been told by a mate of mine who’s a landlord in central Oxford that he’s not opening til 12 and then closing between 3 and 5. On “advice”.

There is a nationwide issue with stewarding. You have to have a certain amount per number of fans in the ground. And clubs all around the country are struggling to meet this, im guessing this is made worse at this time of year. I’m not saying that is the reason for the request, as I genuinely don’t know, but it’s definitely something to take into consideration.
