Transfer News Jayden Stockley

Its a similar story to the summer, when we expressed an interest in various good players only to be shocked when money got discussed.

It reminds me of when Spurs "nearly" signed Ronaldinho etc.

There is simply no reason on earth why Stockley would come to a battle for mid table at best. None. So lets nip that in the bud.

I would imagine a 3 1/2 year contract on higher wages with a decent signing on fee would be enough to convince him to sign. It seems his other options are perhaps Sunderland, Portsmouth and Peterborough or holding out for more options in the summer. Sunderland barely need him and is a thousand miles from Exeter, Peterborough barely need him and is a shithole so it may only be us and Pompey in the running. Pompey would suit with both location and league position but it isn't impossible to think that we could be in with a shout.

All those teams mentioned are desperate to go up so will be gambling and spending well in Jan. Will we, only time will tell but the early signs aren’t great.

With respect to Robinson, let’s hope the sound bites in the press after the game aren’t the sign of things to come. I’d have hoped he’d have learnt from the summer and previous window when it came to talking openly about targets, budgets etc.

Well, in the email I received from Tiger today he says there WILL BE NEW FACES IN JANUARY. I don't think I will be alone in being very annoyed if this turns out to be another let down. I believe him at the moment lets hope he keeps to his word!!

Considering he was happy to leave Bournemouth to sign for Aberdeen and then leave Aberdeen to join Exeter - I'm not sure location or distance seem to bother him.

Can't see why we would ever be in the race for him.

We can’t compete with the other mentioned clubs because they have deeper pockets than us.
That’s why all this talk of Championship football is all B*****s in my opinion. If you want to compete then put your money where your mouth is and go and get him. Harsh but true.

it is not for me to elaborate on why Bigalan would have first hand knowledge of this type of info but i wouldn't dismiss it so lightly !!!

I think the only attraction that we have over the others interested is the offer of guaranteed 90mins every game, whereas he may be rotated at Portsmouth etc. but doubt that would be enough to convince him to join

You have said this before. Why are you so keen to reassure the forum as to Bigalan's credibility?

Maybe because, unlike 99% of people on here, he may actually be ITK. From the little I've heard I'd rather take notice of Big Al than the Oxbibles of this world.

Guess we’ll see soon enough...

According to the Exeter press, Sunderland, maybe Posh and maybe MK are interested in him. No mention of us in the article. Would think that championship clubs will also be interested.
And there’s the problem we’re going to have this window. We’re just not in a position where players will want to come to us. Unless we pay over the odds.
If you were a player wanting to play as high as possible, Pompey top of the league and flying or Oxford?

Im not one for really following other leagues. Does anyone know if there’s any strikers in non league who are going well? I think we’d certainly be an attractive proposition to them. With Robinson’s past links to Oxford Citys’s Tshimanga, I wonder if we’re looking at him.

But then u also put yourself in the position of joe rothwell who did exactly that, but has only made 13 appearances since. Even the likes of jack Payne, move to a top of the league side to get higher up, but end up coming back down. I think as always money will talk most. If u can get 10k at a top l1/championship side, u are going to take that over 3k at the likes of oxford. Even if it means ur chances are reduced

Gawd imagine Nick Harris on commentary for Rad Ox. He’d be practicing the pronunciation all night and still get it wrong on match day.
