Fan's View - Southend at home

Well said Paul, what a jolly fine afternoon it was . . . . .
If we had at least played some good football for all those invited by friends/relatives etc. If we had won, maybe, just maybe, some of those would have ventured back but no.
I was thinking on the way up to Oxford, recent form should have me excited by the prospect of another game but, I still have this nagging feeling of impending doom. Won't stop us coming, of course, that's what we do.

A fair result would've been 0-0, cant see how Southend deserved the win just because we couldn't beat them, stats show 1 shot on target for both teams.

For some reason that match has also given me a feeling of impending doom in advance of Saturday. Rovers are really NOT the team we want to be playing at the moment. I hate to say it but the signs are there for another home defeat: we’re tired and looking lacklustre (the same eleven players being used too often), Rovers will bring a big crowd who will be louder than ours, the ‘new manager’ syndrome applies, Browne is busy signing off with us, Henry is exhausted, as is Mackie, and our “unbeaten” run has come to an end (once again we are fallible at the Kassam).
OK so I won’t go and top myself. I’ll be at the match as I always am. The positive to come out of this (surely?!) is that Tiger sees for himself how desperately short we are of attacking options, and how much we’ll miss Nelson in January.
Won’t he?!

The binary system is alive and well in Oxford, I see.

I think the point is that they got there tactics spot on and we weren’t good enough to find a way through them. Awful game.

Yes that's it. If we had done to them at their place what they did to us at the Kassam we would have said we thoroughly deserved it. Well, I would have I think.
