Target in Belgium

hopefully we only sign players who are straight into contention for the first team, not signed to appease fans,, and find themselves only in the U23 (reserves) or loaned out.

I don't think KR will be going to any of the Belgian boxing day matches unless he is.going to miss our game or is going to Captain Kirk it to 19.30 KO at Genk. So one of the two games on the 27th seems favourite at Lekeren or Anderlecht looks best bet

My impression, when I read the article in the OM, was that he was heading over to a game on Sunday (23rd) I might have misunderstood though.

Reckon your right I forgot to look at Sunday's games, too much alcohol

So.. donning the old deerstalker, seems like the target is an English player who played in a game in Belgium on Sunday. Can’t be that difficult to narrow it down to a name or two if I could be arsed ?

In the top two leagues there were only four games on Sunday. No links to OUFC apart from our man Gino at Roeselare, and I highly doubt he's on the phone to OUFC scouts saying come and get a second-league Belgian player. No English native speakers apart from an Aussie and American keeper. Claude Makalele the coach at Eupen, but a) why would there be a connection to OUFC and b) Eupen are absolutely moneyed by the Qatar academy. Maybe Tiger, Erick, Horst, Zaki have business friends there? Pushing it a bit...

So no obvious connections, if anything comes then it will be out of left field I think.

After an hour investigating the Belgium League.........
How about David Henen?
Has the Everton youth connection, started on Sunday for Charleroi in the Belgium Premier, having only started one game previously this season (coincidence?).
On loan to Oxford for the rest of his season? He is a Striker.

Would be an interesting signing definitely! One who was tipped for big things but obviously not quite hit the heights expected. Direct Hall replacement with Graham replacing Holmes?
