Current Player #23 Josh Murphy

Did well last night but it was more a performance of moments rather than the dominance we saw in the 5-0. Did his share of defensive work too. Thought some of his open play crossing was a bit of a mixed bag but that in-swinging dead ball at free kicks is a real threat. Can claim a part in the goal but I think that was more about Brannagan brilliantly retrieving a ball that looked like it was drifting out!!!
 
Some of his crossing was abit wayward last night but he never gave up he worked so hard going backwards and forwards

I love this Josh Murphy and really hope he stays
 
Mous was saying on Sky how many clubs at a higher level would be keen on Josh.
If we don't go up we may struggle to keep him....

Unless we go up, I think it's highly unlikely we'll keep him. Now he's got his mojo back, he's clearly a notch above L1. Pretty much the only thing KR was right about!
 
Too good for League 1. But not good enough for Liam Manning 🤔

I thought what Jacob said about the feeling you leave after achieving promotion was telling.

Let’s hope we do it this season - and if not Buckingham convinces him he can get to the very top with/ or via Oxford

Yeah - I didn’t like the use of the word “leave”.
 
Thought he was quite poor last night but to make up for it he was bloody outstanding defending.
Worked back non stop for 90 minutes. There was a sprint back in about the 80th minute when Bennett got done that was so so good.

In terms of attacking output.

Don’t think he troubled their full back much going forward and think they learned from playing versus him a few weeks ago.

When you’re off it like that you have to make up for it for the team in how you defend.

Something Browne could learn from who come on and didn’t track back.
 
He was very dangerous in the first 30 minutes. I think 8 crosses said George Elek. A couple of times he shot when he should have crossed, but he was definitely a threat.

Would have liked to see him and Dale- or him and Browne swap wings - but I thought he had another excellent performance. Defence is part of his game.

Didn't get the ball much in the second half. but as you say was fantastic defensively, and always potentially such a danger that Peterborough couldn't commit to all out attack.
 
Does anyone remember late in the second half against Peterborough they broke down our right hand side, Bennett was caught out high in our half and Murphy turned on the afterburners and sprinted flat out at incredible pace to get back and disrupt the Posh player putting the cross in. Incredible defensive work, great desire, great workrate and solid hamstrings. Superb
